Crussdaddy - sounds great - calithena ate geemaille dote combe, minus the silly extra letters.

Gtimms - Thanks for contacting us! There are three things artists can do to get involved:

1) Send us a file of art that you already have that you don't mind us using in the mag and we'll pick pieces as they come up and fit articles.

2) Hang out on the boards and when the Art Request threads pop up, pounce on them.

3) Send me your email and some representative work and when crunch time comes up I'll send you panicked emails saying 'can you please illustrate...' and you'll let me know if you can.

If you have cool stand alone B&W pieces we definitely consider those for open submission each issue whether they fit articles or not.

Competition for cover space is tight but if you send us a really excellent color piece and you haven't been on the cover before that definitely merits some extra consideration. Send us some stuff and we'll see what's up!

Hey cruss! Just got your email, I'll check those out right now.

Kelvin, we have secured blessings for using X-Plorers, and I like that it appears to be in the minimalist framework - although there's nothing wrong with classic Traveller either! - so go ahead and use that to stat your space opera I guess.

Another good issue shaping up! Believe it or not I am going to try to have this puppy ready by early May!

Very cool!

As it turns out, we should be able to turn this issue around very fast in terms of content as long as the artists are ready to go in mid-April (and, generally, you guys always are!). I am hoping to try to do an early May release, believe it or not. We will see how all that goes.

Right, so I spent the morning putting together a rough draft of the text. I'm not sure what this should look like, as it's the first of its kind in the magazine, in that it's not a dungeon or a hexmap. What I've done is essentially type up my game notes, and that's resulted in a gazetteer of sorts, with the important locations and NPCs described, with the intention that the GM just drop the players in and see what happens (which is what I did). I've also included a couple of paragraphs at the end of what happened when I ran the scenario, but I've stopped short of anything resembling such new-school concepts as "plot". ;)

What format would you like this in? I've typed it out as a text file, but there are some bits which I think would work best as boxes or sidebars, and I'm not sure of the best way to mark them as such without laying out the thing myself, which is probably not helpful.

Also, there will be some art with this, which I'm happy to provide myself, since it's tidying up the sketches I already did. After that, I'm of course happy to do the usual freelance thing for other articles.

I'd say just put boxes and italicized (or whatever) notes marking the text that you think should be dealt with differently and I'll take that into advisement when we do layout. Looking forward to checking it out!

I've hit a delay with getting the art and maps done, but since I haven't seen an art thread pop up yet, I suppose that's not too much of an issue at the moment!

Awesome guys. I am totally swamped at my 'real job' (which I actually love and hope I keep for another couple of years...won't know if my contract is renewed until August though) but the light at the end of the tunnel, along with the open subs deadline, is looking like this weekend, so layout for #9 should start soon!
