Inspecting the body, Boro discovers that the cloaks, while finely made--although now torn--do not possess pockets. There is, however, the tome and obsidian dagger, both of which may possess inhuman powers. Alexandro would be able to detect such power by a mere touch or concentrated gaze, however.
On that note, Alexandro realizes that the equipment he began his journey with is likely somewhere within the cultists' borrow. It would be beneficial for him to recover his book of spells, perhaps.
Boro, satisfied with Alexandro's answer, turns to looting the bodies of the cultists, searching for anything valuable or noticably unusual. In the process, he strips off one of the robes and holds it out to Alexandro. "While in the pits we do not shy from nakedness, no doubt your lack of attire here is embarrassing the lady."
Actæa stifles a giggle at Boro's words, and nods gracefully to him; "My friend is too gallant."
Suddenly she is all business again; "The left door is silent, but I hear a hissing at the right. Set is a god of serpents, is he not?"

Alexandro addresses Boro: "I would very much like to see the tome and the dagger, if I may. It would be to our benefit to see if they have certain...properties."
He takes the proffered robe, and laments the lack of protection that it offers. He smooths out the wrinkles and regards the rest of his band of rescuers.
"I feel certain my equipment is somewhere within this lair. If you would help me recover it, I would be grateful. Not that I'm not grateful for the rescue, of course. How is it that you are here? A fortuitous event, it would seem..."

Yngvar moves around and decapitates any bodies that haven't already been suitably destroyed.
"I am Yngvar the Red. You are a weaver of the black arts, then? Having such on our side would indeed be beneficial."
Then, to Actaea: "He is; and I hate serpents. Whatever is behind that door will feel the bite of my axe; perhaps it guards this sorcerer's things, and other treasures besides..."

Boro offers the tome and dagger to Alexandro. To the rest of the party he says, "I've no desire to fight any of Set's non-human minions, but I do not fear them. I will stand with you against them if they stand in our path. Perhaps we should investigate the silent door first, though. I would not have more undead fiends burst upon us as we fight Set's serpents."

Alexandro takes the tome from Boro. The binding in thin and stretched, made of some sort of fleshy skin--possibly human.--and oddly warm to the touch. Peering into the stained pages, Alexandro is reasonably sure the book itself is not magical. The text, does appear to detail some sort of magical ritual, however. A few hours of study may yield greater information.
I don't like the look of that book," say Faryd, a note of uneasiness in his voice, as obvious as a tritone chord.
The obsidian dagger glints dully in the flames of Turin's torch, shimmering down the sharp, chipped blade. With a mere touch, the dagger sends a wave of sensation up Alexandro's arm. It's magical alright, and powerful indeed.

"As your bodyguard, I must advise you to complete the original mission as quickly as possible and get out of here alive. And yet, selfishly, I am curious what ill-gotten treasure these cultists may have stored beyond these doors..."

Adrastos exhilarated after the fury of battle had barely any time to notice the mysterious newcomer. Though he has no love for sorcery, Adrastos realizes having a practitioner would be very beneficial in acquiring the gem. He severs the head off of the last cultist and wipes his blade.
After introducing himself to Alexandro, the warrior says: "Fortune smiles upon you, stranger. Lets see if she smiles upon us all - we should probe the left door to search for whatever those accursed cultists had. Perhaps we could properly outfit you, and I for one would like to avoid any vile serpents or nameless servants of the dark."

"Aye," says Alexandro, "Who knows what treasures lay beyond that door? But also what horrors? Gear can be replaced, e'en as limbs cannot!"
He looks visibly jittery, as he regards the tome and dagger. It is as if he had eaten too much kaad*. "The tome I would need more hours to fathom, however I can imagine there are arcane secrets inside that would be useful to me. The dagger is indeed powerful, though the nature of such magic is not for me to define. I would like to keep it as a weapon. If you feel either of these items are something that would be of more value to you, then I will surrender them without difficulty."
"Still you did mention an offer to join, and I am, as Adrastos mentioned, bereft of gear." Alexandro raises his empty hands by way illustration. "I would ask that were I to join you, that at least some small measure of protection be afforded me. The arcane ofttimes is little help against the thrust of a blade."
* kaad = a stimulant from distant Kush. The leaves are combined with sap from the trees and chewed.

"Truth be told, Alexandro," replies Brennus, "I'm feeling a little exposed myself without proper armor or equipment. The plan is to raise some fast cash so we can properly equip the party and hire some 'muscle,' then we'll be ready to face any challenge. For now we must be cautious, turning back at unfavorable odds instead of fighting to the death. None of us wants to die in these sewers, so let's stick together and proceed with caution."

The company reconfigures the marching order and makes ready to open the, crooked left door--half falling off its makeshift hinges. Yngvar, eager for his battle axe to taste the face of Set's servants, opens the door carefully.
The light from Turin and Faryd's torches eliminate the expanse within. The door appears to lead to some sort of storage closet, brimming with tattered, but usable crates. To the right are a row of iron bars, built into the stone superstructure--maybe a holding cell of some kind. What lies inside it is masked by the wooden crates.
There is also a wooden door to the right--in better shape than the last--but it still allows a flicking of light to penetrate beyond it into the storage room. Someone or something may be within.

Actæa raises a finger to her masked lips and slips silently into the room, checking carefully walls, floor and ceiling. She then listens at the right-hand door and examines the stacked crates for traps and the like, although she is careful to keep as much of a distance as she can between herself and the iron bars.
