Actæa moves swiftly to lift Brennus' head clear of the sewer's filth. "Does anybody have any wine?" she asks.

Boro checkes the bodies of the ghouls to make sure they will not rise again and checks the body of Eyvindur for some wine.

Yngvar tosses his full wineskin to Actæa. "Use this for now; if Eyvindur has any, we can keep it for later." He resumes a tight grip on his axe and scans the tunnels for signs of other foes.

Actæa pours wine gently and slowly into Brennus' mouth. "Drink deep, my brave friend," she murmurs.

EDIT: Oops. Sorry, thought there was one still standing.

Magne hacks at each of the corpses once again, just to make sure they are dead. Then he looks around to see if their melee actions have drawn any other attention.

After propping him up against the one of the stone sidewalls, Actæa pours a draft a wine gently into Brennus's mouth. The delicious liquid drizzles down his throat, warming his entire body from the inside out. [1d6=4] With a slight cough, the paralysis fades and Brennus comes to, 6 of his 7 hit points now remaining.

After a quick search of the bodies, it become clear to Boro that the rotting bags of flesh have been put to rest for good. He does however notice, the glint of a silver bracelet and jade necklace on the. body of the elderly now-fully-bisected woman.

Boro removes the bracelet and necklace and holds them up for the rest of the party to see. "Perhaps these will help pay the priests to send our companion down the Styx to whatever gods he had. There's a chance he will be found but we've no way to carry his body with us. We'll retrieve him later. " He then shoves Eyvindur's body against the wall away from the ghouls.

Brennus sputters and nearly chokes on the wine, but soon his health is restored! "I am a failure bodyguard," he wipes a tear from his eye as he regards Eyvindur's fallen body.

Magne peers at Brennus with a questioning look on his face.

"If you were bad bodyguard, then we would all be dead."

"There's no use languishing on over the dead. You're lucky to be alive yourself," Adrastos tells the mournful Brennus. "Come now let's worry our minds about the here and now. We have work to do," he says as he wipes his blade and prepares to continue on.

"Indeed; our foray has already paid dividends (though using them to give our companion a safe journey to the afterlife is best, I agree), and no doubt much more awaits ahead." Yngvar takes a sip of water and turns his eyes back to the northern tunnel.

The company continues on, passing only 6 more wooden rungs before coming to another crossroad.

The entrance to the Palace can't be too far now. In the distance to the north--maybe forty feet away--there appear to be a rotting wooden door in the eastern wall.

More oddly, however, there seems to be a bright, flickering light coming out of some sort of alcove to the east. After a few moments, a soft chanting assumes, followed by the sound of the clanking chains, and finally a terrified howl--the sound of a human voice.

"I dislike the sound of that," Actæa whispers. "And I dislike it being at our back before we move onwards. I am inclined to see what there is to be seen. If you will excuse me..?"

And she shoulders her crossbow and melts into the shadows. (Assuming no-one objects...)

Actæa Moves closer to the chanting and light, using the darkness as cover. It soon becomes clear that both the light and noises are coming from a within a opening in the southern wall.

As she approaches, Actæa notices two distinct voices. One chanting, the other giving instructions: "Bind the sacrifice and ready the vestige," a harsh voice shouts, "Now grip the obsidian dagger."

Actæa flits silently back to the party. "Gentlemen," she whispers; "I know not what evil occurs yonder, but evil it most certainly is. I think it best to snuff it out for all our sakes." She shudders at the memory of the howl. "And swiftly."
