[ooc: checking through the character sheets it look like we have a total of 3 flasks. :) Mot has 2 of them.]

Tirandir would shrug at Mot's suggestion, point again at the lizardmen and drag his finger across his throat. Then take a position, with his bow ready, to allows easy firing into the room.

At the words "death trap" Ędelwynn suddenly finds himself increasingly occupied with the very important task of keeping a close watch on the party's rear. Naturally the rearmost rank would be the best place to undertake this most necessary service.

No, no; no need to thank him.

He does, however, have a flask of oil he is prepared to offer up to the cause, passing it forward if required from a (very safe) distance...

What kind of distraction is planned?

OOC: lets push this forward... First we need to deal with the lizardmen, Mot needs to remove the kobold from direct sight or else there will be trouble. Then we can array ourselves for ambush and someone, IE not the guys holding the bows, can toss the oil in if that is what you all want to do.....

With a very short prayer for their souls to the Lords of Law, Dram dispatches the lizardman guards if doing so will not attract the attention of their kobold ally. He will then, as previously, detailed, take up his position for the ambush and ready his throwing knives, one in each hand.

Mot retrieves a flask of oil from his pack, and take a torch from one of the party members. He will follow the kobold through the arch and motion the archers (Tirandir, Jaras) to come with him, one at each side. If we are charged once we are inside, his plan is to light the oil and throw in front of us while the archers then fire arrows over the oil. We can fall back if outnumbered. The remainder of the party can follow immediately or take care of the lizardmen as they wish (Mot, being Lawful and educated, does not generally approve of killing unarmed foes but recognizes the terrible danger of these reptilian foes).

Tirandir would look at Mot like he was clearly mad... Then giggle a little, shake his head and follow him into the room. He tries to move as quietly as possible but his Bow held in such a way as to make it clear something is going to get shot.

Mot fishes an oil flask out of his pack, and so Aedelwynn is left offering his own flask about with no takers. Mot then breaks the wax seal of the flask to unstop it and ignites the oil therein from the torch he takes from Jaras. The halfling then sets an arrow upon his bow string.

This done, Mot hurries the enchanted kobold ahead of him; the little creature is impatient to return to the safety of the lair in any case, and wastes no time skipping ahead. Mot follows, flanked by Jaras and Tirandir who both have deadly missiles ready upon their bows...

The remainder of the company wait by the guard post, preparing to ambush whatever might come forth from yonder chamber, while Dram thrusts his dagger hard into the scaly throats of the bestial lizardmen, one by one. Even slumbering, their necks are hard and scaly, and it is well that Dram has a hard heart and a strong arm. With a coarse gurgle and a brief struggle, the deed is done.

Inside, there is a thick, reptilian odour in the darkness.

The company dimly spy a rude encampment some score of yards across a broad plaza of broken and uneven flagstones. Beyond the camp are another series of dark archway, just barely discernible at this distance.

A guttering cook fire beneath a huge cauldron provides a modicum of illumination -- just barely enough for Mot and company to fathom the location of the camp in the darkness, and that there are at least half a dozen shadowy figures are hunched variously about the fire.

The enchanted kobold capers toward the camp site happily, urging Mot to follow...

[The referee will assume that Mot, Tirandir and Jaras have a surprise round, seeing that the camp is preoccupied and their guards gave no prior warning.

What to do?]

After dealing with the lizard guards, Dramorian (fighter) will grab one of their spears and stealthily move to where his cohorts are being led by the kobold.

He will attempt to find a spot where he can strike from cover, first with the spear and followed by his throwing daggers. He will not endanger his friends in any way.

Tirandir slowly asses the situation trying to select his first target with some care, while waiting for Mot to act. If he happens to catch Jaras' eye while they approach he would hold up 1 finger and then jerk his thumb back towards the archway.

As soon as either Mot throws his oil or the kobold's look up Tirandir would fire into the camp trying to take out the the nearest kobold. He would then move back to the lower archway as quick as possible as turn and fire again at what he assumes will be a rushing mass.

OOC: Figuring the first shot is the surprise round, then the second shot would be 1st round, hopefully I'll get initiative. I might be trying to abuse the Elven move and shoot rules so handle as you will but I'm hoping to get a second shot off before having to deal with hand-to-hand.

Ędelwynn returns his oil flask to his pack, a vaguely-offended look on his face, and returns to his watch of the rear, calling the rudiments of his magic to his mind once more, should they prove needful...

There might be some kobolds there, but most of the figures are much bigger.

This is exactly how the elvish move and fire is intended to work. Moving backward will be slower thou...

Then strike the word kobold and use "figure" :). I also have no need to "back-peddle", I would just turn and run back to the archway and then setup for my last shot. [From my Chaotic point of view, Jaras was warned and Mot is clearly crazy ;) ]

[Yikes ok this might get bloody]

Mot will attempt to hurl his flaming oil directly into the campfire. He will then duck and scamper back towards the arches.
