 The meaning of 96 in Carcosa
« Thread Started on Nov 15, 2008, 11:25pm »

Geoffrey, something really ?stupid? I've been curious about.

Does the number 96 mean anything in Carosa??

- 96 pages.
- 96 sorceries.
- 96/2 = 48 monsters. ( ::) )
- Even in the Expurgated version you wanted to keep pages in the 96 count.

Does it have any secret, occult meaning? I'm intrigued! :o

Fnord.

Hey, that gets me thinking. How long will it be until we see GURPS:Carcosa?

Any fool of a DM can kill his players, it's as easy as "Rocks fall, everybody dies". The Art lies in giving them the opportunity to kill themselves, in as entertaining a manner as possible.

Ha! I never noticed that before. I wonder how many 96s we can find by scouring the pages of CARCOSA. ;D

No secret or occult meanings, I'm afraid. But I'm sure we can come up with something...

Of course he would deny this. Denial is the first step in any conspiracy theory.

You can bet the "96 Society" is starting to sweat, now that their secret is starting to leak out. And that they are sending some MIB (Men In Black) to Argentina in a hurry to fix the leak. ;)

Well, 9+6=15, which, divided by 3=5.
