Poke begins to examine the ground around the barrier where it is broken through for tracks, both coming and going. "d**n...." he mumbles to himself.

Meat heads off after Octavia to see what can be seen of survivors and the extent of the damage.

Octavia falls to her knees before the ruin that was her families home, she isn't weeping, she's just staring at it and mumbling to herself. A cursory survey doesn't reveal any signs of life in any of the thrashed huts, of the few bodies that lay unmoving in the streets you notice that parts appear to be missing, just as with the man you met below the medlar these people have been taken apart while living and left to die.

The roundhouse has a massive crater like gaping hole surrounding what used to be the door, its interior smashed hard against the walls and an open gaping hole left in the floor, it goes to something below the ground although its dark and you can't make out what it is below.

How long will you check for life signs, put out fires, etc.?

Having made hurried survey of the area, Roger stares down at the gaping hole in the roundhouse floor. He waves and calls to his companions, and when they draw close enough he speaks.

"Our home is in ruins. We were not initiates to the tribe's secrets, so we know not what magic, what holy items, may yet be hidden here. Perhaps they were used in the defense, to no avail. But look you here; it is possible that those responsible for this ruin have fled to the depths below. I would seek vengeance. Shall we follow, and learn what we can?"

Roger considers gathering torches, food and water before any descent.

"I agree, Roger. Let us see what we can find among the ruins. Then we shall investigae below. Revenge without mercy!" Poke stares at the hole and clenches his fists, all his spines erect and shaking with fury. "This abomination must be stopped!"

Sorry, I just started a new job and am taking a short hiatus from school until I can afford to go back. This does mean more reliable gaming hours though, just not last weekend.

and sorry again. Luckily we are at the close of this chapter of the tale! I have few plans for this weekend so I can actually do some prep and get the next chapter started. Stay Tuned!
