"All clear here, except the noise. Someone give me a hand with this table," Meat calls out.

Poke walks over and assists in moving the table.

Ok, so moving a large object is going to be a roll against your strength, so:

Poke rolls a 15 vs his strength of 11, meat rolls a 9 vs his strength of a 10.

Combining their strength the two Mutants are able to work the table off the metal man, but the flashing lights start to make poke feel a bit queezy.

A cliche I know, but pokes epilepsy is triggered by flashing lights in his eye, he has a Dexterity of 9 (best stat I can think to test) and rolls an 8

Although poke feels a strong need to get away from the mechanical man, he manages to keep the bright lights out of his eyes.

The Mechanical man manages to right himself, and after stuttering repeatedly he triggers an automatic message "Please reset the unit, the unit is experiencing an error, please reset the unit, the unit is experiencing an error,...". The lights have stopped, but the message will not.

"How do me "re-set" this thing whatever that means?" Poke turns away from the metal man thing and rubs his eyes.

Seeing the others are OK, Roger takes a quick look for any potential spots where a fire might start up again. He then awkwardly climbs in and moves towards the metal man.

"Greetings," he says formally, placing two hands over his chest and bowing. "We are friendly and would be glad to provide assistance. How do we re-set the unit?"

With fascination in his eye, as well as some smoke, the badger looks the construct over.

The metal man is clearly not paying any specific attention to either of you, he is simply continuing to flash his lights erratically and repeat the message again and again only occasionally broken up by the monotone boom from the skies demanding that "Section Fourgee Emergency fire services respond immediately to Roundhouse fourtytoo!"

You can make out seams like on the other Mechanical men you were able to inspect in much better light, the tools are attached to nine flexible tentacle-like arms located in three rows of three around its body. it is standing atop two tank-treads at its unbranched base. There are three white orbs half submerged equidistantly around the top of its "head" with three holes in each one, and a flat flashing panel where its face should be. It is not moving or reacting anymore, its simply flashing its lights and repeating its message.

Roger, eyes smarting and nostrils flaring, shrugs all of his shoulders and says to the others, "I see nothing here to help me. The metal spirit is trapped. Shall we take our plunder and move on?"

In any case, the furry mutant heads out of the roundhouse and sorts through his plunder, hoping the others will soon be ready to leave.

Poke scratches himself with a quill and proceeds to look and see if there are any other rooms or doorways. If not hell head out after Roger.

"Good," rumbles Roger as he sees his companions coming out. Finishing up his sorting, he stashes various articles of plunder about his person, then stands up. "Where do we go now?" he asks with a tone of hesitation in his voice.

"Sounds good to me. I hope we don't run into whatever did that to the old fella." Poke hefts one of the implements and smiles. "At least we are armed for it now."

Roger sounds worried, although looking at his red eyes it's hard to detect any emotion. "Fire back home? I did not think of this. It is good that we return home. I am ready."

Your trip back is mostly uneventful, up until the crossroads where the same distant blinking and flashing of lights comes from the east, and stops just as before. you hear nothing from the western clearing where you encountered the Metal beings before or the strange cylinder that leads to their homeland. You continue past all of this to the village only to see a scene of total destruction.

The thorn-wall surrounding the village is totally Destroyed, and what buildings you can make out through its ruins are torn asunder. Fragmented bodies are scattered about, and the buildings belch forth smoke into the sky. You turn to look to Octavia, the only pure human villager among you, only to see her bolting for the village.

Stunned, Roger stands motionless as Octavia runs off. He knows only too well that without the protection of a tribe, their lives will be hazardous to say the least.

Finally, he begins lumbering forward, motioning to the others. "Come, we must look for survivors. And what can be salvaged. This smoke will draw others."
