(OOC: I seem to remember we were going to have somebody to watch the horses. Do we, in fact, have somebody like that? Because I want to get in on the exploration, but a large number of unattended horses bothers me...)
OOC: We hired the french knight didn't we? So, on the ground we have...Armand, Romeo and the NPC knight...I think.

Nestor watches from the roof as his comrades crowd the window ledge.
"I'm willing to enter as well, if you need an armored swordsman in the lead," he calls down to the group.
OOC: How big is this window ledge and how far down is it from the roof?
OOC: I was thinking about that too...we're all crowding on a window ledge that might be too small . We're not going to be able to do more, I don't think, until Burke posts. Not unless someone has another idea besides looking through/going through the window.
ps. Does anyone else feel like we're eagerly rushing to our destruction?

[Yes the French knight, Léopold, is with you and will guard the horses while you explore.]
[The window ledge is 10' down from the roof and 15' up from the ground. Two people can sit on the window ledge at a time.]
Iseul probes the walkway with the pole and it swings a little but seems solid enough. The window ledge is far too narrow for you all to fit so Iseul fastens the rope to himself and enters, carrying the pole in one hand and the lantern in the other.
The barn is approximately 300' by 100' and you are now 20' above the floor. The metal walkway circles around the inside of the building and there are four staircases, one in each corner. The window you entered through is 30' from the northwest corner. It is quite dusky in here but Iseul can make out a multitude of farming equipment below.

Karl, still belaying the rope, calls out to Isuel quietly, "What do you see?

Iseul: "The walkway seems stable enough to walk on. There are stairs in here that we can use to get down to ground floor. I can see some farming equipment down there but not much else."
"I'd say you can come in but not all at once. I think it's best if we try not to put too much pressure on this thing as it's pretty old. I think I'll go have a quick look down the stairs. I'll wait for you there."

"This place seems so fine as a base. But... I wonder where are its inhabitants. With all these tools, they shouldn't have vanished for long. So strange, isn't it?", worries Rollo.

Iseul unties the rope and advances to the stair and descends it. Karl follows him and Iseul's advice about the walkway seems prudent as the metal groans and shifts precariously under his feet. Karl is then followed by Jochi, Nestor and finally Jacques.
[If anyone else wants to enter, just say that you do. Léopold is fine with guarding the horses and camels by himself. As there is a rope and its not too high, I'll assume everyone has their armor with them.]
The barn is one big hall and huge farming contraptions are arranged in long lines all the way through it, many hanging from chains fastened to the ceiling. In long racks by the walls are row upon row of shovels, rakes and pitchforks. Of the larger implements you recognize a plow and a harrow, but there are others whose function is unknown to you.
However, all these tools and contraptions have one thing in common, they all seem much too large and cumbersome to be operated by any man.
The middle of the barn is clear through its whole length, creating a sort of avenue 30' in width, lined by the farming implements on both sides. It is very dusty and murky in here and without the lantern it would be impossible to make out any details of your surroundings.
Jacques will wait, with torch lit, until Karl, Jochi and Nestor have entered and reached the stairs before following.
Karl enters and moves cautiously toward the stairs that Isuel took. He is staying very alert...we heard *noises* coming from inside this building, so something is capable of movement in here...I won't say alive.

Iseul: "I wonder who they built these tools for? Giants?"
"I think it's best if we try to avoid any large open areas while exploring as we don't know what is lurking here yet."
"Remember we heard the sounds of metal clashing with metal from inside here." Karl whispers, "Let us stay alert, for something in here is still capable of making those sounds."
Karl has his sword drawn and is looking from side to side and up as he moves cautiously along with the group.

Jochi is going to climb back up the stairs and walk along the metal walkway, hugging the wall and treading cautiously with bow at the ready. He'll avoid looking directly at the party's light, hoping instead to let his night-vision develop and scan for movement in the dimly lit reaches of the barn.
Is the party kicking up dust as they move? Are there other places where the dust is disturbed from this vantage?
