Blackmoor Resources « Thread Started on Jan 24, 2008, 7:17pm »
May 3, 2009 Revision In response to a request to add all of the recent threads about Dave, a few more threads have been added to the list.
While this might not be enough content to justify its own section in DF, it is still substantial and does show a lot of interest in the campaign. If we had a Blackmoor section, this is what it might look like...

Elsewhere in the Worlds of TSR area I have been compiling a list of good Blackmoor threads here on Dragonsfoot, and I thought this would be a good place to compile a list of good Blackmoor resources in other places on the web.
Finarvyn’s Top Five Essential Blackmoor Sites:
#1 - Dave Arneson’s Blackmoor: The MMRP This is the “official home” of Blackmoor, or at least where any new d20 Blackmoor products are discussed. Here be where one can download Blackmoor modules for convention or home use. Several of the original players post here. (The Great Svenny and Robert the Bald, to name a couple.)
#3 - Havard’s Blackmoor Fansite Quite simply the best fan-based Blackmoor site out there, as far as maps and information. (Updated to reflect Havard moving his site.....)
#5 - ”Uther’s Table” on the Wayfarer’s Inn message board This seems to be the most active place to discuss Blackmoor. It’s not “official” but seems a lot more user-friendly than the MMRP site. This is a nice board because several of the original players post here. (The Great Svenny and Robert the Bald, to name a couple.)
Some Other Nice BLACKMOOR Sites to Visit:
The Great Svenny Greg Svenson is one of the earliest and most famous players in Blackmoor, and his has a few stories on his own website.
Blackmoor: Home of the Ancients Nice stuff here, but never seems to be updated. The Gazateer of Blackmoor is pretty well done.
Dave Arneson Series (DA1 - DA4) The Acaeum is a D&D research website for pre-1990 products, and this is a page on the DA series of modules from TSR.

I guess I can now add this place to my list as well...

Finarvyn,
This is the most complete and comprehensive listing of information about Blackmoor I have found on the internet. I read the different entries to bring back memories of the original game, and to learn more that I either forgot or did not know.
"Second," the Grand Oon continues, "there is Kyrel, the Magic-User."

Actually, Bob, it's one of the two best because it's the exact same thread I posted to DF when I was trying to convince them to start a Blackmoor section over there. They weren't too hot on the idea, but I kept updating it anyway.

Hi Fin, thanks for the link to my site earlier in this thread. However, the site has moved to http://www.blackmoor.mystara.us so you might want to change it?

Havard, hopefully I got the fix correct this time.
Also I added Code Monkey, although they are ticking me off at the moment. I registered and apparently my passwords don't work (I only sign up with 2-3 different ones, so it should be easy enough to keep trying until one works) and I keep trying to get them to send me a new one and get no reply. This has gone on for a couple of weeks now.

Well, gee, if they have monkeys doing their code, you should be surprised that it worked at all...

Yeah, excellent. Thanks!

I never had problems with signing up, but I did try to contact them about some problems I had with their site not accepting my credit card. That's months ago and I never heard back from them about that, so their customer service definately seems to be run by monkeys

Not accepting your credit card? That's just bad business! I don't care if they never learn to be nice to the consumer, at least get their cash first!
I know! I still don't know what the problem was. The card works fine elsewhere, but I finally got around it by using a second credit card that I almost never use. In any case I got my Blackmoor books. But yeah, unless that was a freak incident, I can't see it being good for business.
