 "Flawed" hardcover version?

I've got a choice of softcover + pdf for $19.99 or 'flawed' hardcover for the same price. What do they mean by flawed?

Perhaps it's very very thin and floppy? :)

The flawed hardcover is glossy finish (as opposed to a matte finish for the "official release") and is, to a greater or lesser degree, warped.

The problem, as DuBeers says, is with the cover boards. When I lay mine flat on a table, although I can't visibly see the problem from the top, looking at it from the side the cover does not come down to make contact with the pages at all places.

It will make no difference to gaming, obviously, since the pages are fine, but it's definitely a bit weird - they don't feel right in your hands. I would only buy one of these for actual table use. For that, they're no problem.

It's not a huge, ugly problem, but they are definitely rejects. Also, they vary in how much of a problem there is with a particular book.

Do, by all means, get this set of rules. They are amazing! I have the PDF and can't wait for my hard-copy to arrive. I've been very encouraged by the strict quality control Mythmere and FGG have exercised over this release.

Thanks guys! I'm still trying to decide between a softcover with pdf or flawed hardcover, but anyway I don't quite have the funds in my paypal account for this yet. However, I did a "test drive" of the Frog Gods website's checkout yesterday. Not that I'm complaining, but it didn't seem to add in the cost of shipping.

Given the choice, I'd go with the "flawed" hardcover.

(and then you'd sell it to me two weeks later because you felt your gaming shelves were too full ;D )
