 Ran S&W/OD&D tonight
« Thread Started on Oct 23, 2008, 10:17pm »

Five players...ran "The Tower of Zenopus", a converted BFRPG module. Everyone had a really good time (despite the complete absence of a cleric) and they want to play again next week :)

Not to derail the thread right off the bat, but... there's a "Tower of Zenopus" module for BFRPG? Where'd you get it, and is it the same as the one in the Holmes D&D rulebook?

There is...or was. I have a printout of it but the PDF seems to have vanished. I suspect I got it from either Dragonsfoot or the BFRPG page. I don't know what happened to it. Yes, it was based off of the sample module in the Holmes basic set and expanded on that adventure a bit.

Perhaps it came from this DF thread back in 2006 when Solomoriah said:

I don't dare publish it on the website, but anyone who emails me and asks (not PM, just email) will receive my version of Eric Holmes' Tower of Zenopus, the 1978 Basic rules sample dungeon, as a PDF. It works well as a starter dungeon, being set literally in the middle of town, so that the various services needed by adventurers are handy.

I've got to look through my stuff and see if I got a copy from Sol. Unbelievably, there are still recently-written modules I haven't had time to read yet - it's a good day for old school gaming when the publications run ahead of my available reading time. :)

That is very likely where it came from, yes :) It sure is fun to run :)

Thorkhammer from DF put out an expansion on the Zenopus' Tower recently as well.
