(OK - 50 yards = 150'f which is roughly halfway down the block.)

You head south from the intersection - you see nothing but what you've already encountered in the tunnels - water/debris.

Same for west and north.

[2 turns have passed - a total of 7 turns. That includes an averaged turn of rest for all of you, including Chiccan after his scouting trip.]

Lark checks his watch and then pulls a Snickers from his backpack, "you fellows all doing okay? I got more candy bars if anyone wants one."
He takes a long swig of water and thinks to himself that a drink doesn't even sound good right now.

"I dunno fellows, we may just be chasing our tail. Any bright ideas? If not let's head west for awhile and see if somethin' turns up."

With that, Lark shoulders his backpack and shield, then takes up his shotgun and begins to move into the center tunnel.

"It's the underpasses we need to continue to explore," says Sam. "I don't see a reason to continue west any further. I vote that we find a way to get north or south another block, then turn back east and scout both underpasses there. We can continue to snake east and west, back and forth through the pairs. Hopefully something turns up."

Lark stops and turns, "Sam, that sounds like a good plan. Let's do that. But the river is also west of here. Would that cause the tunnels to dip down farther?"

Lark agrees with Sam and will look for a north or south tunnel and then move eastward towards another underpass.

The Grand Intersection at Clark/Jackson (which is where I have you) goes NSEW. I'll assume you're going N from here.

You reach the Grand Intersection at Adams (EW) and Clark (NS). The silence is eerie - aside from the sounds of your movement, there's nothing. No sounds of traffic, maybe a slight rumble now and again that is almost too faint to make out. The tunnels themselves, aside from graffiti indicating the streets and intersections, look unscathed by time - only some dust, the water puddles found every so often, and bits of scrap, plus the ever-present telecommunications conduits above, break the monotony of the dirty white/grey concrete.

At Clark/Adams, you turn east and shortly reach the "dip" for the Dearborn subway tunnel. It looks much the same as the "dip" on Jackson street. Nothing is here. You hear the rumble/mutter of the subway train somewhere to the north.

Raspy makes a face as he munches on a Cliff bar. "These things are never as good as they look.... So: I don't know about the rest o'ya, but I don't really see a difference anywhere. What do you say we just pick a spot and start throwing around the primieval juju?"

Lark says, "About as good a time as ever. Probably need some kind of magic to see anything different down here anyway. Otherwise we'd have all heard about it alread on CNN."

Chicchan asks, "Did 'Mr. Smith' indicate that we needed to be at any particular location for this to work? I don't recall..."

Sam thinks back, racking his brain for the particulars of the conversation.
"He said that the underpasses beneath the Dearborn and State Street subway runs were where we needed to go to gain access to the Underworld. He did not specify which or any more detail than that. We seem to be at a standstill here, so this is what I propose. We should get back topside and round up the other supplies we've decided we need and get outfitted for another trip down here. The spell to open the gateway, if that's the word, is a one shot deal. We need to find out from Smith if it's a one way trip or if we end up back here when it ends. Like I said before, I don't know if trying to do magic myself will work here. It may just be over in the Underworld that I can do it. Plus, he said i needed to find some of those fish things,or something similar for myself. Honestly I don't expect it to work without them."

"I'm willing to go with whatever the group decides, but if we feel like we may need more supplies, we should probably get them while we have the chance." Asa says. "We don't know how easy it will be to return from the underworld."

[DM NOTE]

In OOC, the party has decided to move back out of the tunnels and gear up a bit more. They will find themselves back under the trap door that they first entered into, ready to figure out how to climb out and leave. A total of 12 turns, 2 hours, have passed since first entering, with the party having moved at a cautious pace. So it will be 10pm as we pick things back up.
