This is an obscure game from the early 80's, written by Dan Silvera, being reprinted by the indefatigable Dan Proctor at Goblinoid Games:
Wizards' World
Immediate highlights include the chance to play Metamorphic Dwarves and Demon Halflings, as well as Vampires (this last one as a class.)
So, I can play a demon halfling vampire?
Awesome.

Do you actually own it? I'm very interested in seeing what it's like.

Nestled before you is a peaceful Goblin Village, whose destiny is to be slaughtered by ruthless adventurers. Attack? |

Not yet, but as the PDF's only $5, I will eventually.

Yeah, I'd be interested to find out what makes it particularly special and/or different from other products out there. The examples sound a little "out there" for me, but there might be some neat ideas otherwise.

I wrote a blog post on my first look-through. I think it's a pretty awesome game, and I suspect that it will have its own cult following before long.

Sorry I didn't go into much mechanical detail, but I may before long if others don't pick up the slack.

And this dude has a review with the table of contents: Wizard's World review.
I ordered the print copy based on this, it looks pretty nifty.

It does sound pretty wild, and at only $5 is a decent enough gamble just to see what cool stuff they did with the rules. I must admit that their character examples still put me off a little, however. I guess I'm a little too traditional.

And some of the monsters sound rather silly, but I am ordering the print blind and will give it a run with some converted classic D&D monsters. The classes could be fun enough to expand and bring in oldschool classes for.

I am getting deeper into this system and have corresponded with David Silvera several times (he is a great guy) and the races and classes aren't that far out. When I ran the ideas by my group they were all for it. I love the spell point system much better than Vancian magic myself.

I'm pretty happy with the response so far to WIZARDS' WORLD. Sometimes it's tough to judge, but when I first encountered it I figured it would be interesting to many OSR folks. It does a pretty good job of adding a twist to a familiar theme--and without the OGL, which is important to some people. At Bat's urging I'll be releasing a free license for people to make supplementary material. As time goes on and if there is enough demand maybe I'll do a 2e, or at the very least, maybe commission all new art.

And I will be creating ANOTHER blog just for this game that will go live after I run everything by Dan who is an absolute peach because I asked about the requirements to post, I know he is a busy guy and he did it in no time. What is really neat about the game is that it is like a fluid AD&D without the need for particular classes for an adventure, just get some suspicious characters together and go. I ran a game yesterday (and made a brief write-up on the Goblinoid Game forum in the Wizards' World section) and it flowed very organically. Dan saw a psychedelic vibe to the game and mentioned this in his forward. I ran with the notion and it was fun for all.
