 Stonehell Dungeon
« Thread Started on Mar 6, 2009, 11:27am »

I hope you fine folks don't mind me doing a little self-promotion and condensing my links from the One Page Dungeon Template thread here in one place. The latest installment when live today and I thought it just might be easier to list them all in one thread.

For those of you who don't know, Stonehell is the megadungeon complex I've been slowly building for the past two months, inspired by Sham's idea of the One-Page Dungeon and Chgowiz's template to make that idea feasible.

I've just started in on Level Three and should be finished with it by the end of March. My plan is to make one section available every Friday until the entire ten levels are complete.

The dungeon is constructed using Labyrinth Lord as the rule set behind it but, in actual use, it's suitable for most any old school rule set.

Fabulous! I'm glad you found the One Page concept so useful, and it's great to watch Stonehell evolve.

I think it's awesome, but am moving it to the Workshop instead of 3rd Party since it's not being published.

Snagged these off your blog. I doubt I will run them as-written (I never do), but there are some wonderful ideas in there. Thank you for your hard work.

Sorry for the misplacement, Finarvyn. I pulled the links from the One-Page thread which was living in 3rd Party. My bad. :-[

That's pretty much the point of the whole project. I'm remembering a lot of old lessons and learning some new one along the way and thought I'd share the end results for people to pick and choose from, as well as inspire. Thank you for taking the time to take a look.

This is an excellent project and I'm running it for my new Swords & Wizardry group. The only quibble I have is all the maps after 1A are too light so when you print them out you lose the map grids. Other than that, this is an excellent dungeon thus far!

This has been a concern of mine, Arminath. The problem stems from the big hoarking pad of graph paper I've been using to draw the maps. The gridlines on those sheets are of a very light cyan color and despite my efforts in Photoshop to adjust the color and make them more visible, I haven't been completely successful. I'm working on a way to make the maps more clear for use in play but it's going to take me a bit of time to redo the maps. Thanks for the input and the kind words. I suspected that the grid was going to be an issue and you've confirmed it.

I've uploaded the last piece of Level Three - The Hexperiment - South - to the master list this morning.

Thanks, Zulgyan. I had a lot of fun putting Hothouse Fowers together. It's one of my top three favorite sections in the dungeon so far.

Is this project still moving forward? I just checked the site and it didn't see anything new (except for the zip of level 3). So far my players are still on level 1, but I'm rather enjoying seeing the lower levels develop.
