Fated makes his Charisma check, improving the Crone's attitude one category from Outraged to Unfriendly.
Many decades have our lands been safe from megafauna. Now the snake gods declare war! A terrible blight this man and his thunder-lizards have brought unto the Flower of Sublime Wisdom! Atone for this deed you must, else cure your beasts I will not.
Meanwhile Breath returns to camp to share her findings. The track through the marsh reminds her of the giant sea slug she fought on the Bagel; if this hypothesis is correct, then the creature is approximately 5 feet wide when stretched and 10 feet wide when contracted.

Fated: "Wise One, the snake gods have been sated. We sacrificed several men to their appetites -- they ate of two of our thunder-lizards. But we need your healing knowledge to continue our journey and draw them away from you. Surely your daughters can vouch for our bravery in defending them."

The Dolm Crone sighs and remains silent for several awkward moments. She gropes around until her hands find a particularly ancient quipu. She runs her fingers lightly over its knotted strings and shakes her head.
She speaks again to Fated:
Perhaps there is a way... You must join the Ulfire Tribe with the Dolm Tribe and swear to protect the Flower of Sublime Wisdom as your own family. Festive has not known a man since her husband's... untimely demise. Take the vow, and I will grant your request as a gift on your wedding day.
Festive gasps and stammers, "M-m-my Crone! I cannot!" But when she lifts her head and meets Fated's gaze, he sees the hunger and longing in her eyes.

Meanwhile Breath returns to camp to share her findings. Along the way, she is passed by dozens of birds and small creatures, who seem to be moving away from the crash site in a frenzy...

Fated: *barfs inconspicuously into his mouth and then swallows it* "Oh, a double blessing! The healing we need and the... sturdily handsome love I desire. What fortune.
"Let us away to render service to the afflicted, then we shall return to plan the wedding. Festive, you should stay here -- I'll not risk my bride among the monsters that prowl these fens."

Fated's men have a dolm woman on each arm; will he interrupt their flirtations and force them back to guard duty? (The Quarry Bros are standing nearby, looking for an opening.)
Meanwhile Shade senses the approach of a powerful psionic entity as the grass hut teeters into camp.

Inwardly wincing from his last psionic interaction with the green gang leader, Shade does his best to shield his ability of telepathic communication from whoever is in the hut on stilts.
