Meanwhile on the deck of the Bagel, Gunnery sees the glowing "eyes" of the barrel snap shut again!
[OOC: apologies for delayed response; been busy]
Having observed the "fish face" within, does Gunnery think it another one of the Deep Ones, or something else? Was it in water, or air within?
"It looked... confused," Gunnery informs his fellows. "Let's get it out on deck for a questioning..."
If there appears to be any mechanism to open the capsule from the outside, Gunnery does so.
Gunnery looks for the handle [1d6=3] but it will take him at least another round to figure out the mechanism. The face staring back at him is a robed deep one face, in air. It responds to Gunnery's approach by pulling a lever, which causes the barrel to rock left and right, as though some clockwork mechanism wobbles it from within!
Shade, too, wants to make sure the robed deep one does not get away.
He examines the pod to see if he can open it.
(Though he does NOT yet open it...)
The pod hatch is fused shut from the rifle blast. It's going to take men with tools to open it up again--not something that can happen in blow-by-blow combat time.
Probably safe to move on, deal with this guy later?
Minion considers which is the greater threat, deep ones above, or the robed one below. Is the hatch to the escape pod fused and unable to be opened? If so, he heads up the ladder toward the torpedo deck.
The pod is fused shut, so Minion carefully pokes his head up the ladder. The torpedo deck is long (almost half the length of the sub but claustrophobic, with a low, arched ceiling. There's an awful stench from the giant slug aquarium! A group of 1d = 2 deep ones is loading shackled human prisoners, some of whom you recognize as your missing crew, into the big hamster balls and loading them into the torpedo tube. There goes the first batch now, whoosh! into the sea...

Breath also heads up to the torpedo deck (if there is enough room). If it's too crowded, she'll instead go back to check on the six men she left near the exit hatch.

There is just enough room for our four heroes to all get in on the torpedo deck action, if they leave their meat-shields below to guard the bridge (Fated's men) and exit hatch (Breath's men).
Minion will roll first with his boom-stick: 6, 12!, 5. He hits once for 9hp, which kills 1 of 2 deep ones.
Shade rushes into the action: 1, 1, 3, 2, 6 and strikes once for 5hp, dropping the final deep one to 1hp!
Breath follows up: 6, 11 and hits for 12hp!! instantly dropping the deep one to -11hp. (I'm not even sure what that looks like...)

Meanwhile on deck of the Bagel, Gunnery's net holds fast as the iron escape pod wobbles and... bulges? as though trying to shake itself free. Gunnery sees through the portholes that the escape pod is a two-seater; there is another passenger behind the robed deep one, but he can't see who or what it is.
As far as we know, is the ship secured at this point?
As far as you know, the submarine is secure from Deep Ones, the only two survivors are the defeated Alpha that the sailors are guarding for later hand-harvesting, and the robed deep one who is welded into the escape pod and isn't going anywhere.
I wonder how long a deep one can survive in an enclosed space like that...
Anyone else wondering the same thing?
"There is really only one way to find out."
Minion wipes fish sauce from his visage with a look of 'well done,' and heads back down. He heads for the point of ingress he took into the sub, then stops before crossing to the ship to look over and see what's been going on over there during our absence.

Let's drop from combat rounds to exploration turns. Tell me how your PC will be spending the minutes in the aftermath of the battle.
Sounds like Minion wants to do a walk-through of the sub and then cross over to check on Gunnery and the Bagel.
Sorting through the hamster-balls of men and treasure is going to be a chore. There are several men stuffed into each of the metal spheres. It looks almost like the deep ones were using their prisoners as packing material to cushion the treasure!
