Fated to Die takes the bags from Thug Slave and then retreats to the safety of the group.

[to Thug Slave] "See if you can find his backpack... otherwise we are going to be very hungry soon... if we aren't eaten."

THE EYE OF THUNDERA gives one more scan around the tunnel (including the ceiling ;)) and then reenters the water with the rest of the group. He finds the narrow rail too difficult to stay balanced upon in armor.

A thorough search of the area reveals no trace of Pack Slave or his backpack. It's as though he was swallowed up by the darkness itself!

Thaimos chuckles half-heartedly. "Well, if one of those things we chased down here finds us, at least we won't starve to death!"

"Let us keep moving," states the Sovereign Mask of All Who See calmly as he begins moving further down the passage. "I smell more rotting flesh to come."

THE EYE OF THUNDERA moves on and continues to look for signs on the rails and on both sides of the rail to determine if the 'foreman' and his White men stopped and took a hidden path.

The Shadow shrugs and continues walking, keeping close to the rail in the center of the tunnel and constantly sweeping his gaze along the walls and ceiling and periodically looking down at the water for signs of movement from up ahead (like ripples).

Our heroes shrug off the mysterious disappearance of Pack Slave and continue down the tunnel in search of the Foreman and his captive Breath of New Moon.

It is not long (perhaps 10 minutes) until the Shadow's fears are realized--ahead, at the limit of your head-light, the water on the right (south) half of the tunnel floor seems to ripple and roil! He silently raises a hand in a gesture of caution to halt the party's progress while the next move is pondered. No tentacles or eyestalks rise above the surface, and the disturbance appears to be stationary (for now); if the churning of water is caused by a creature, it appears not to have noticed you (yet).

Whichever side you like, it takes only a few seconds to hop over the hip-high rail. I had imagined the party traveling two abreast with one on each side of the rail.

OOC: Two abreast sounds good to me. I can't speak for the others, however.

The Shadow quietly whispers a barely audible, "We have to get by it somehow..."

Servitor looks at Shadow, nods, and then presses his forefinger to the top of the rail. Servitor then carefully mounts the rail.

The Mirthful Doomed follows the party and keeps an eye out for trouble.
We looks back, forward, all around, and he looks up.
