I'm still on board, but haven't found a place to really sink in at the moment.

The Soverign Mask of All Who See is waiting till everyone is done frolicking in town so we can head off to this cave, back to Carcosa, or some other adventure site.

Haha, it's all good. I've just been too busy lately to keep up with everything going on in the town. I was out for a few days and I haven't quite gotten a chance to really catch up since.

Will the vermiform Wheat Man of Aylesbury consume our "heroes"? Will the Purple Stranger have mercy on Shadow of Evermore's disembodied soul? What is the THING IN THE SNUGLI? Tune in next week... DUM DUM DUM!

(I'll be back Sunday night.)

I am considering the following house rule, any thoughts? It applies to mass/troop combat only, not the man-to-man or fantasy tables.

Troops would now have a separate attack rating in addition to their defense rating. For example dagger=Light Foot; sword=Heavy Foot; 2-hand sword=Armored Foot.

Chance-to-hit would no longer be determined by armor type but by weapon type. This is a buff for light-armored fighters (such as the "barbarian in furs with a 2-hand sword" archetype) and conversely offers plate-wearers a strategic reason to choose a heavier weapon.

The only reason I have not adopted this house rule already is that, in Carcosa 1st printing, all weapons are mechanically equal in both chance-to-hit and damage. Depending on how the dice fall, a dagger could do d12 and a lance d4! If the players prefer then I will keep the current all-weapons-equal system we've been using to this point.

I like your house rule. Makes sense.

Maybe there's no deeper meaning here, but does anyone else find it odd that a bunch of green men are called Whitman... as in White-man?

The maggot-man came from a tomb labeled "Wheat Man" so that is the likely origin of the name.

However there may be a kernel of truth to your "White Man" theory... :)
