I'll shut up now and give y'all the night to figure out what to do next in Round 2... I will try to be more organized in tomorrow's postings. Thanks all for the feedback!

Sorry for the short posts. It's hard for me to get online as much as I want as I lack my own computer at the moment. I'm using a PCbang (korean intenet cafe) so I have to work around their hours and my work schedule. Plus, the sounds of kids and star craft is really distracting.
I'm still in the game, don't get me wrong, it's just real life is preventing me from getting into it as much as I want.

A glimpse "behind the curtain":
Wandering monster check (6) Monster type is randomly determined (4) Surprise is rolled (party 1, monster 5)... Everybody is looking for tracks on the ground, nobody is looking up at the tunnel ceiling! Target is randomly determined (9); the monster waits for the party to pass underneath, then stealthfully drops onto the last straggler (Pack Slave) and uses its special ability!
The Shadow Of The Evermore lights his headlamp and dons it. Then he hefts his shield, readies his flail, and begins down the tunnel.
He won't run all out, but at a normal walking pace. He constantly scans the tunnel sides and ceiling for spots that might look to be ambush points or openings in the tunnel.
He'll try to keep an eye out for drag marks/tracks, if possible, as well.
Oh, I know you were being very careful ehiker! But the party failed your surprise check, so I was just trying to narrate it in a fun way. Cool?
No, no, I'm totally cool with failing the surprise check.
I was just sayin'... I check the ceilings.
I don't separate from the party. I don't shoot at a target with my shotgun that is 50' away when they're closing in on me and will soon be 10' away (last episode of Harpers Island, anyone?). And I always check the ceilings.
I would totally live through a B-rated horror movie.
