If there is any life-or-death action, I'll hold off until Monday.

It appears the Foreman of the Central Shaft is here to rescue everybody and there is no immediate danger...

-4 to hit - similar to attacking invisibly. You can't charge. You can't select targets unless someone else uses their action to assist you. You are moving at 10' round.

I usually use -4 to hit.

I give attacks against the blind (that sounds awful.. heh) +2 to hit, just as if they were sneaking up behind someone.

ps. and the blind person gets no dex mod to ac.

I ended up using d6+1 to hit blind opponents on the mass combat table.

I had a request by PM to slow down the pace of the action... if I do a single "mega-posting" once per day rather than the current blow-by-blow storytelling, will that be easier for everyone to follow?

Is everyone clear on how the Man-to-Man combat between Sovereign Mask and the Foreman is unfolding? Basically you roll 2d6 and cross-reference the attacker's weapon vs. the defender's armor on the chart. 1st-level PCs such as yourself roll 2d6+1 (fighting capability "1 man + 1") and the Foreman's 3 attacks implies he has a fighting capability of "3 men."

I'll be happy to throw in a vote for the continued pace, myself. My experience with PbP campaigns is that if things get too slow then people start dropping.

But that's just my opinion.

What if we put it to a vote to see what everyone involved thinks instead of letting one person's request dictate a change?

I'll out myself as the PM originator. My comment was that the flow of how combat decisions are to be made is confusing. I'm not following who does what/when and what to base my decision on. It's more of a need to get clarification on what/when we should do and what is the situation.

To whit, the foreman's combat started, and I am still not sure what I should have based Red's decision on - the flow seems confusing on when we can act and at what point we're acting.

My vote is for option 3 - the pace is fine as long as it's clear when we're posting, what we can do and when we can do it. When you stick in the monsters moving/acting before everyone is done specifying their actions for the round, it seems as if we're advancing into another round, or we can act on the updated information.

Personally, I like the shorter posts for non-combat activities, keeps the action going along, as you say, but have a harder time following them when the tension starts to rise in combat situations, where I think a single, mega-post could be beneficial.

I think things are going just fine, by the way, Mushgnome. I'm not trying mess with your campaign structure or anything :)

For example: Those of you who declared your Round 1 intentions over the weekend didn't know the white men were going to attack, those of you just tuning in today had a better grasp of the situation to base your decision. Is it unfair that those who post first have less information on which to base your actions than those who post later? Would any of the weekend responders have chosen a different action if you'd known how things were going to go down? If so, I am happy to implement the common style of play where all intentions for the round are declared before either side acts. One way to facilitate this is to nominate a party "caller." This is not my typical style of play, but I am always open to feedback/suggestions.

For the record, this is intended to be a horror-themed campaign with a high body count, I've been clear on that from the beginning. The confusion, tension, and anxiety of your situation is intentional. If the action becomes too organized, logical, and predictable, then it is not as scary in my opinion...
