Considering switching back to 2d6 for man-to-man combat. Throwing 2 dice feels twice as nice as 1 die.
If we decide to stick with d20, I think the effect of a Parry should be improved. In Chainmail, parrys give the opponent a -2 penalty to his 2d6 attack roll; what is translation to d20?

Tough to translate from 2d6 to d20 since the 2d6 is a bell curve and the 20 is a flat 5%. The chances of rolling a medium number, around 7, on the 2d6 is much higher than rolling either a 2 or a 12, whereas all the numbers on a d20 have an equal chance of coming up.

Yes, it's tricky.
On 2d6+1 you are 58% likely to roll at least an 8, while on 2d6 you are 42% likely to roll at least an 8. On average (I think) you are 59% likely to roll a bigger number on 2d6+1 than on 2d6. So it is very roughly equal to a +2 adjustment on a d20.

If my maths are correct, 2d6 gives a slight edge to plate shield, since the odds of rolling a 12 (1 in 36) are lower than rolling a 20 on d20 (1 in 20).
Let's run the next man-to-man fight using 2d6 and see which we like better.
I'm not entirely sure that your next fight will be with "man-types" though; I'm thinking mutant swamp creatures of some sort.
ps Everyone check out the Experience and Treasure threads in preparation for your voyage.

Taking time to look at my character sheet today, I realised I never updated my equipment with the leather trenchcoat, etc. that I bought in the train station.. sigh. Off to find the post in the thread! heh
Yeah, Shadow was a hair's-breadth from a trip to Fallen Heroes. If we included abandoned PC's, the list would be a lot longer.
I noticed we are coming up on 1 year, we will definitely celebrate with an XP bump and possibly more.
Death may have been better than...
Aw, who am I kidding? GO MUTANTS!!!
I always had a thing for that TMNT RPG, where everyone was mutated animal characters. Couldn't get many people to play it, though. I should have tried to get my friends in college to play it; I bet they would have giving it a shot.
I still have the rule book for that, even. Maybe if I can find the rules on-line, I'll start up a campaign with it. I don't even recall if there were any modules for it; we mostly sandboxed anything we did.
(Ok, I had to go look at the book for the full name. It was called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness" and it was done by Erick Wujcik. My revised edition was from 1985. I do have a supplement book with several adventure ideas in it.)

Ideally everyone would keep their character sheets totally up to date. But I admit I've been guilty of not keeping my PC's sheet up to date in WotE's campaigns, so I'm sympathetic.
That's why I started the Treasure & Shopping thread, so we can keep a centralized list of purchases.
I will post an in-game update to give you more information what you need to pack for the Expedition. Everyone please tie up your loose threads in Arkham and we will get underway shortly!

Me either, done now
Re: 2d6 vs 1d20, I'm with whatever you'd prefer mushgnome, really doesn't matter to me either way.

That game was intense, a lot darker in tone compared with what the franchise became a few years later. My favorite PC was a mutant badger.
I remember we also played a lot of Marvel Superheroes (FASERIP) around that time.

TMNTAOS was suppose to be like a supplement to Superheroes; you could conceivably tie characters from the two in together.
((Do Bone Men even show visible bruises/wounds??? ))
Maybe...
1. A bone man's blood/flesh/organs are transparent in all circumstances.
or...
2. A bone man's blood oxidizes and turns red on contact with air; this would mean that a wounded bone man is a gruesome sight indeed; the deeper the wound, the more blood & guts become visible!
or...
3. When bone men die, their transparency fades and their real appearance becomes apparent; bone men have a cultural taboo about letting outsiders view their corpses and, like ants, will quickly carry their fallen from the battlefield.
or...
4. When a bone man dies, his corpse vanishes (like Obi Wan).
