Zarano stops stroking his twin mustaches then with a big smile opens his arms in greetings. "My friends! I apologize for the absence i think i took a wrong turn at the last passage" His face turns from joy to suprise to see a goblin standing in front of the party... ..communicating.. He stands aside leery and draws his sword slowly pointing it at the goblin. "What is your buisness goblin fiend!" (heavy barbaric accent)

Treasure first has some appeal, but I'm also concerned about the gelatinous cube. It might be worth taking out the guards at the jail and doing something about neutralizing the gelatinous cube and freeing the prisoners and then getting the treasure.

In any case, we should have a decent rear guard keeping our escape route open.

"I'd prefer to get the prisoners first," William says, "but of course I'll go along with what the party as a whole decides."

"Don't ... don't hurt me, " squeaks Gunther, his teeth chattering, "My father ... used to be clan chief ... died mysteriously ... the new chief <name supplied by DM> took over ... I was too young ... I think he killed father ... been waiting for my revenge ever since."

The new chief is called Bigpig the Cruel and he is 6 feet tall, as are his three bodyguards

Gunther mentions this, and adds, "And he's got a nasty guard dog too! Rumor has it that it ate my younger brother when he was a baby."

Zarano lowers his guard and lets off a mighty chuckle "You are more like a cowardly dogling and less of a goblin to me." "I accept you as one of my companions as long you watch your step and will help in your revenge." At the discussion of treasure Zarano raises his brow. "What is this speak of treasure in chambers and where do we find these great riches?" "I will follow the ones going there for i feel that with great peril comes great wealth it always seems to work that way, a great cat and mouse game for the gods." "Lead the way!"

Gunther replies, "Yes Zarano, I will watch my step carefully, oh yes I will. Now I believe we should free the prisoners first, because that will throw my clan-goblins into a tizzy trying to recapture them. Then we go for the treasure!"

Madoc speaks:

"I would like to rescue any prisioners before questing for treasure. Who knows what tortures are being afflicted on those pour souls...every minute lost might mean one less survivor when we get to them."

"So be it! Prisoners first then treasure." "I'm in the mood to spill some vile goblin blood." Turns towards the goblin raising eyebrows. "Are little friend here excluded from the slaying for the moment." Drawing sword and shield at the ready.

"We seem to be decided," William says, hefting his mace. "Would you care to lead the way, Gunther?"

I'm going to be in and out (mostly out today).

Jariel will be prepared to cast sleep if there's a good pile of goblins, or the goblin leader and his guards really are big ones. For smaller packs (if they really come in 3s), Jariel will shoot his bow. If it seems we are about to be overrun, he will definitely use sleep though.

Hope that gives enough direction that you don't have to delay the game too long for me.

"To the dungeons then," acknowledges Gallaine grudgingly, "but let us be sure we don't wind up up shackled there!"

((The timezone difference means I usually see most of the action after it has happened -- so Gallaine maintains a vigilant watch for any tail, pursuit or rear attack, and provides missile support in any frontal combat.))

BTW, the map is in 5' sections, so each room is 10'x10'. Thus the party is going to be in two rooms at once, more or less. I take it you are going 3 Easts then 2 Souths to the guards beside room 3?

New marching order is (as I understand it)

Freddie & Gunther
.
.
.
Madoc & Charles (man-at-arms)
Lawrence & Peter (hired pikemen)
William & Jariel
Flandil & Gallaine
