"I would say we are pretty sorely beaten..." Madoc says. "Alas I am fully bereft of funds and can nay hire men-at-arms. It was my pauperism that led me into questing in this dungeon for treasure originally."

" I still think we should wipe out the last wolf or see if he's burnt to a crisp. We can then head back and rest. I'll stay at the tower to keep watch if you want to head to town. If something happens that I can't handle I'll rush back to town to meet you."

"That's a good point," William says. Do we hear any wolf-sounds from beyond the metal door?

"I will again operate the lever." Flandil says to Freddie. "I suggest you all unleash missile fire when I open the door, then I shall quickly slam it shut again."

William will be ready to smack it with his mace if it should come out, but is staying next to the door so as not to block missiles. (The other side from the lever.)

Madon flanks the door on the opposite side of where William stands.

The door opens on the angry wolf! Jariel's shot misses, but Freddie again throws true with his dagger, slaying the wolf. There is fire at the end of the room/corridor to the north

MECHANICS
Jariel 7 (miss) Freddie 18 (hit) dmg 3 - wolf killed

Stand guard, wait for the fire to die down and search for loot before we head out?

"Yeah, okay, but then we really ought to hit the road," William says. "It may not be entirely safe, getting back to town."

You wait a few minutes for the flames to die down, then carefully sift through the rubbish. Not surprisingly, the wolves had no treasure
