Olaf will enter, sans armor, with armed with bow and arrow (sword in scabbard). He will attempt to give Dieter cover with this ranged fire, if needed, while the warrior puts his armor back on.
Dieter quickly but efficiently dons his armor, then takes Olaf's bow from him to cover the rest while they do the same.
Olaf's list of gear he would like to acquire for the basement adventure:
Short bow + 20 arrows Helmet 2 Shields Torches Oil for his lantern (and other purposes) Anti-Venom/anti-toxin (if available)
As Olaf is presently indisposed, I will assume only that Dieter organises a replacement helm, shield, and a flask of lantern oil for Olaf (total 46sp).
Anti-venom is not readily available... it could possibly be bought from an alchemist, but one would first have to locate an alchemist.
Olaf left his bow and arrows behind in the depths of the Ogres' dunjon. He has not yet had time to replace them.

Within ten minutes or so, the entire company have crawled down the cramped stairs to stand, in the somewhat confined space of the cellar.
Ulric and Josiane are the last to descend, and Olaf and Dieter laboriously haul their coats of mail rings back over their shoulders and huff and fuss with straps and buckles in the semi-dark.

Ulric raises his lantern trying to cast as much light about the cellar as possible. He scans the ceiling, walls, and floor for holes or crevices in which vermin could be concealed.
"Did anyone check those crates or that hole in the ground you were first down here?" he asks.

Desmond responds, as he and Mondes scan the walls and ceilings, as well, "We didn't make it down the stairs. We got this far, saw the centipedes and the hole, and, prudently, headed back to inform the rest of you what we saw."

Dorgan begins to cautiously, slowly move forward.
"We walked up a bit further than this, actually. Mebbe 30 feet more afore we spotted the centipede behind the hole, up on the wall. Let's move up a bit and see if the wee beastie is still a'lurking."

Armour is donned while Ulric, Gustave and Dorgan press forward somewhat into the cellar.
By the bobbing lantern light, it appears that the walls and ceiling in the cellar's ante are sound enough, but further back there is significant deterioration in their condition. There are a number of dark cracks and fissures that might hide vermin, or even children!
The stink of the crystalised phlegm on the surfaces is tangible, and distasteful. There are some sizeable mounds of earth beneath some cracks, possibly indicating where tunnels have been excavated.
Most notably, however, are the stacks of disused timber crates in the place. Some are partially covered in earth. Beyond them all is a large, dark hole in the floor at the rear of the cellar...

Gustave halts next to Dorgan, glancing around at the various dark cavities with clear suspicion. Squinting into the gloom, he attempts to ascertain if there is any other exits from this pit, apart from the gaping hole in the floor.
He wrinkles his nose in disgust, "I know not, my dear dwarf", he says, "but it reminds me somewhat of the cooking of a lass I once had the misfortune of becoming involved with."

It is difficult, nay impossible in this light, to tell whether the cellar continues much farther back -- beyond the clutter of boxes and earthworks -- or whether it might end abruptly just out of sight.

Highbough doesn't like the look of those crates. Are they intact and sealed, or is it possible more of the centipedes are nesting inside? He will move forward when the group is ready to proceed, acting as light-bearer from the 2nd rank.
