Gustave is mildly approving of the breakfast spread, though notes (on several occasions) how it could be greatly improved with the presence of the odd pastry.
"Ah! Good to see you back in some sort of presentable shape", he observes as Olaf enters somewhat gingerly. "I trust the Sisters ministrations were...restorative?", he adds with a grin.
"And good morning to you too Gustave!" Olaf says between mouthfuls, "I don't remember much about it, just lots of chanting..." he pauses for a moment thinking, "...and smells."

Not waiting for a reply, he stands and, with some distaste, shoulders his 'temporary' shield. Licking the last crumbs from his (shapely) fingertips, he looks around at all assembled and, raising a brow, says "Right then, something about a wine cellar was it?"
"Huh? What" Olaf asks surprised, "What about a wine cellar?"

Dorgan will arrive at breakfast fully armed and armored, ready to go. He'll nibble at a few things on the breakfast table but seems more interested in heading downstairs at the first opportunity.
The dwarf noticed that Desmond purchased a couple of shields while they were traveling about town together and, should the halfling appear without his Cold Iron Axe, Dorgan will ask him why he's decided to make the switch.
Olaf watches the Dwarf curiously as he continues to tuck into the breakfast, "You're armed for bear this morning Dorgan. Are we heading back to the crypts or heading out for the Abbey?"

Desmond responds that he is interested in trying to run with an improved armour class is all. Plus, there is the chance to sacrifice your shield for not taking damage. He wants to at least give it a try for a while...
Dorgan asks the halfling for a favor.
"Desmond, if ya ain't gotta problem with it, I wouldn't mind takin' that axe with me. It's fine quality, to be sure, and I got a habit of losin' shields. If'n mine breaks again, I like the idea of a bigger axe in me hands, rather'n that letter opener I, uh, found."
The dwarf quickly adds, "Mind you, it's still yours. I wanna borrow it, is all. Just ask and it's back in yer hands."

Desmond goes up to his room and returns with Mads' Cold Iron Axe.
"I don't know if I can rightly claim ownership of it. It is simply in my care. But if someone else can put it to good use, Dorgan, then it should be put to good use."
He sticks the haft of the axe out towards Dorgan and passes the weapon on to its new guardian.

"Good to see you up and about," Ulric says to Olaf. "You seem close to your former self. Would you care to test your strength and steel this morning?"
Ulric considers the newly found entrance to the hidden cellar for a moment.
"We should be sure that they both go to the same place, and where each comes out. Splitting our party is often not the best choice, but I understand that it is rather tight down there, right Dorgan?"
Ulric eats well and feeds his rot grub.
"Shall we dismiss our staff and begin our explorations? If we wish to split up, I will take the dining hall entrance and will carry a lantern."

"During our first venture down the fireplace, there appeared to be a set of steps coming from another location that mirrored the ones we used. This could very likely be the other opening."
"Oh, and remember, you bigguns are going to have to remove your armour to get through the passage way... let's hope we're not pressed into a hasty retreat at any point."
Desmond ensures his sword, shield, two daggers, and sling are all in proper order. At some point in the morning, he will spend a few minutes out in the back yard, carefully selecting a handful of stones to use with his sling.
That done, he is ready to go just as soon as everyone else is.
"Oh, and remember, you bigguns are going to have to remove your armour to get through the passage way... let's hope we're not pressed into a hasty retreat at any point."
"...err...remove...my armour?" queries Gustave, pausing as he tightens the last strap of his breast plate.
"I believe that our good Dwarf has found an alternative to your rabbit hole. Perhaps that route would permit us a more ergonomic passage, requiring fewer antics?" he adds, raising a brow in Dorgans direction.
"Anyway, who is a 'biggun'? I think rather that it is your good self, my dear bi-cephalic hobbit, who is...diminutive" he finishes with a mischievous grin.

It appears that both secret doors are built in the same, tiny style. The passage behind either door might be ideal for a child, or a Halfling, but is a genuinely tight squeeze for an adult.
So, who is entering by the dining hall door, and who by the ballroom door?
Who, if anyone, is staying behind?
Are any instructions to be given to Bennug and his staff for the day?

Highbough volunteers to scout one of the passageways. He'll squeeze through, take a quick look around with his lantern, and fall back at the first sign of trouble.

Dorgan warmly receives Mads' Cold Iron Axe from Des. Since the party is most likely to face a rather large opponent at the beginning, the dwarf will throw his shield on his back, hook his axe and dagger on his belt, and carry the battleaxe.
When the topic of dividing the party comes up, Dorgan will suggest these two "teams" take different entrances and meet up downstairs:
Team Dieter Dieter Olaf Desmond/Mondes Ulric
Team Gustave Gustave Dorgan Josiane Highbough Guntrum
