Mads the Enlightened
Before Rufus heads off, Mads mentions "If it doesn't look promising, let's head back up." in a low voice. He follows along steadily and quietly, directing the lights as Rufus wishes.

Rufus nods his head in agreement! Then approaches the unexplored entrance carefully in the shadows against the wall looking for traps. Then looks in...

The door arch itself appears to be an unremarkable entry into a stone passageway.
Some distance ahead there is another chamber, this one with a series of staggered daises or platforms filling it.
It is simplicity itself for Mads to send the lights ahead, and he does so with a flick of his finger.
In fact, the room appears to have numerous narrow stairs rising and falling within it... much like the "miniature golf course" Mads once saw in a vision, only these are all of grim, mirthless stone.

Rufus listens and stands guard ready for anything around the arch. He looks for traps around the entrance. Then he relaxes and steps back and asks the others, "What do you thing Mads, Dugel, Wendel shall we have a look inside? I will take no answer as a yes".

Mads the Enlightened
"I..." he wavers. "I have seen a place like this before--in a dream." He directs the light around once more, the flames flickering steadily. He moves forward, hesitates, and steps back. "I would feel better if we met our obligations and found the vault, first," he says at once.

The little lights race down the passage and into the chamber ahead. With the space illuminated so, it becomes apparent that there are half a dozen miniature stone bridges rising to various (modest) arches in the large chamber beyond.
Dugel looks on for a few moments before he responds gruffly, "That is some... interesting stonework... begs the question why they bothered doesn't it?"
Wendel has nothing to say.
Mads is ready to turn about.
Rufus seems keen to press on, and his further investigation of the passage entry confirms it is as safe as any like it.

"Well maybe we should find the vault first and them come back to here afterwards. I could use the quick money", says Rufus slowly. "Ok let us go up top and through the middle passway as we planned before? If everyone is okay to continue our original plan, then lets go!"
After returning up the passageway 1, Rufus will careful listen and look with Mad's light and sneak down passageway 2 with weapons drawn looking out for traps. In search of the vault door.

Rufus examines the entry to the central passage by the light of Mads' bobbing candle flames... but for all he can tell it is a perfectly ordinary stone passageway.
[1d6]
That being established, and the remainder of the party getting fidgety, Mads orders his pet flames ahead and they race on down the passage, whisking past a tattered curtain of cobwebs to plunge into the darkness ahead.
When the little flames have gone a score of yards ahead, leaving the company in relative darkness, they illuminate a T intersection wherein a pair of grim stone stairs appear to ascend and descend...

"Guys I think we need more light so we don't stand me all day. Dugel or Wendel light a lantern or torch quickly so we can see", says Rufus.
After we have light.
"Follow me men", says Rufus who will move carefully to the room ahead, been careful for spiders in the webs. And look up and down the stairs keeping a look out.

Rufus heads into the cobwebby passage to follow after the flames.
He is cautious of spiders in the webs, and it is a good thing too...
Not halfway down the passage he spots a foreboding dark crevice in the ceiling above the passage, and before he wanders underneath it he thinks he spies a bulbous shadow in the blackness with horrible pointy legs, and the faintest glimmer of lantern light reflected off which might be a cluster of spider eyes!
[The spider hole is 15ft ahead of Rufus, in the ceiling...]
