"Agreed," Ulric says. "We'll go retrieve our silver together. But what happened to that nice glowing wand you had before Olaf? Don't tell me you lost it."
Ulric drops a little morsel of food to the worm in the box to test the reaction.
Olaf pats his side where the scepter is tucked under his belt, "Still got it here, but it was starting to flicker on me...probably used it too long...so I switched to this lantern."

Wibert takes point, followed 20ft behind by Olaf with his lantern, and then the remainder of the company.
They head back to the intersection first, some 80ft of so, then take a right turn and ascend the narrow stair which they find... ignoring the left turn to the ravine door (and freedom) and also the narrow stair which descends deeper into the dungeon.
Wibert creeps ahead and is first on the landing...
...where he spies the familiar ante chamber with passages heading left and right, and the slightly ajar double doors leading into the Ogres' den is straight ahead.
There are a number of stinking corpses littering the passage; wolves, ogres and also that of a great cartilaginous centipede.

Wibert draws two blades and then creeps as silently as a cat across the ante toward the two great doors, circumnavigating the giant centipede carcass that lies directly infront of the doors.
When he reaches the door he listens intently for a time... but he can hear nothing so much as a whisper from beyond.

Gentlemen, I require a marching order.
Unless you indicate otherwise, I have it thus;
Wibert :: near double doors (sword and dagger), Olaf :: at top of stair (sword and lantern), Dieter :: next on stair (sword and sack of coins), Gustave :: next on stair (sword and sack of coins), Desmond/Mondes :: next on stair (cold-iron axe and Ulric :: next on stair (miniature wooden chest), Highbough :: next on stair (spear and sack of coins), Koch :: next on stair (hammer and sack of coins), Boris :: next on stair (mace and sack of coins), Victor :: next on stair (handaxe), Pelenwin :: at base of stair (pole-axe).

Ulric drops one more morsel of food into the chest with the grub then closes it and returns it to his pack. With that finished Ulric draws his sword and waits for the report from Wibert.

Wibert peeks around.
The great double door is ajar, but it doesn't appear to have anything obvious tried to it or balanced against it. Through the three inch wide opening, Wibert can only glimpse darkness within.
[Heartless; if you want Wibert to search for anything more specifically, you have to tell me what Wibert looks for, or at.]

Wibert will go back and find a helment or some cloth off dead people to roll into a ball or something that looks round like a head he can go back and poke into the door opening on the end of his sword, unless he can see a spear around. Wibert will do this to search for a trap that will drop something on top of any one that enters or if there is a bow ready to shot. If nothing happens he will through the fake head into the orge lure to try to set off any traps.

Wibert capers about in the semi-dark, searching for a dummy-head to spike upon his sword... there is nothing immediately useful for the purpose to hand, so he tip-toes a little further down the passage (to the left of the stair) where he sees a few corpses lying about...
Meanwhile, Highbough digs in his pack for the bundles of candles in order to pass them out to his fellows so that they might have a little more light.
Pelenwin and Victor are thrown aside like nine-pins as a something squeal-snorting and bull-solid [1d20=16] smashes into Boris hard, taking him violently at the neck and tearing furiously into him as he collapses suffering [4dd=6,6,5,3] a terrible 14 hit points.
There is a sickening crunch of bone and gristle, the sound of gore splattering on stone, and then a great clatter of spilling coins and clanging mail as Boris is smashed into the wall, dropping his sack of loot.
By the time those on the lower stair grasp they are under attack and turn to see Victor and Pelenwin scrambling to their feet, there is a great, fresh blood stain on the ground and Boris's boots are vanishing from sight around the corner... leaving a thick glistening blood smear behind them.
"Baal's Filthy Hole!" swears Victor, scrambling up the stair as he regains his feet.
"Some light!" yells Pelenwin, pulling his helm back off his face "I see not a dam nable thing!"
