"Here you are," Ulric says passing some food from his pack to Olaf and Victor. "We'll need your sword arms for sure. Let's go see to these voices and get our treasure and your equipment back. It would also be good to know if the hobgoblins have entered this place. If they have then it's likely that there is an ambush waiting for us outside that door, just like the last time we left here."
"I still may be able to call forth the Sufferance. I may also be able to put a number of them to sleep. Let's be quick and quiet and find out what we're up against first though."
Olaf accepts the food gratefully and wolfs it down.

Olaf and Victor are shocked to notice that Desmond the Halfling now has two heads!
"What are you ugly snots gawking at?" retorts Mondes (Desmond's right head).
"One head was enough on your body Desmond." Olaf says, "What in Hades happened to you?"
"We found some purple fruit on a tree somewhere up above... I must have eaten a rotten seed or something..." he smirks and tilts his head to the right really quickly in an attempt to hit Mondes in the ear.

"Yeah," Dieter quips. "It upset him greatly. He's been beside himself ever since."
"Our gear and treasure is upstairs in the Ogre's den where we spent the night a few days ago." Olaf says tiredly, "Victor and I heard sounds of voices coming from there a few minutes ago. Probably, the lizard men or maybe some of the goblins we fought earlier today."
"If we want that treasure and what little supplies we had on us we'll have to go back up there and take on whoever is there. Otherwise, it's down the stairs and back out into the ravine." Olaf finishes, "Now that we're all together, I'll leave it to you to decide."
"Now we are refeshed let us investigate the Orge's den to get our stuff back, and sneak out of here", says Wibert.

Very well.
Olaf's lantern is the only light source, since Dieter had to leave Wibert's torch upstairs since he couldn't very well carry all his gear and the torch -- simply not enough hands.

"It could well be our friends the hobgoblins again," suggests Gustave. "Perhaps we can ready ourselves here and send a scout to see what we are up against." He rubs his now well stubbled chin in consideration. "A small, stealthy chef could be optimal," he proposes, brow raised.

"Splendid idea," Ulric says to Gustave's suggestion. "Good to know what we're getting into since we're not exactly at full strength."
Ulric begins to absently going through his remaining equipment as he waits. With the door so nearby he begins to feel as though survival is a bit more likely. Ulric finds the small wooden chest he took from Flewellen so long ago. He carefully opens the lid and looks inside.

Is Wibert going to take the lead and investigate what lies up-stairs? If so, is he going to take Olaf's lantern (the only light source), or scamper off into the dark?

"If we really only have ONE light source...period...then we need to stick together and to all get out of here before the oil runs out." Olaf says, "If we going up stairs, then we should all go together and come back down together."

"Agreed," Ulric says. "We'll go retrieve our silver together. But what happened to that nice glowing wand you had before Olaf? Don't tell me you lost it."
Ulric drops a little morsel of food to the worm in the box to test the reaction.
