I'm getting married this Saturday and will be in Mexico for about a week thereafter. I should have some internet access, but my posting might be infrequent.
1) Hunker down to some afternoon tea and await the Mother Superior, 2) Investigate the basement, 3) Something completely different.
What are your plans?
Shall we put it to a vote? Members of the current party in the residence include: Dieter Olaf Ulric The Gustave Highbough Desmond/Mondes Josiane Dorgan Guntram
Desmond votes for finding out what will be needed to cure Olaf of his ills. If the Mother Superior has a task to be completed that doesn't involve days of travel (i.e. can be done within the city), then I'd entertain that route. Otherwise, I say we come up with the money and just pay the fee. Then we have the freedom to take whatever route we want to try and replenish our coffers.
Also, if we decide to go to the basement first, there's a legitimate chance we find nothing. Then we've just wasted a day. In any case, I don't know how Eris would feel about either coming along and doing nothing or staying in the manse and doing nothing. Olaf shouldn't exert himself yet.
(Oh, and WOTE, can we get an update on the Present Company thread since several took new levels?)

Highbough votes to clear the cellar. We can grind a few XP, possibly find some treasure, and sleep sound at night. He's contributed enough silver not to get dragged along on some goody-two-shoes holy quest.

As much as Dorgan wants to root around downstairs and (hopefully) dig up some coin...
I vote we wait for the Mother Superior to show up and see what sort of quest may be available in lieu of paying the full 1,000 sp for Olaf's cure.
If we all vote for it, WOTE can "fast forward" to that, we can see what the deal is, and then we can figure out whether we want to do the Mother's quest or clean out the basement.
The faster we get Olaf back to full strength, the better off the entire company will be.

Josiane is naturally inclined towards waiting to see what the Mother Superior has to say. ('Goody two-shoes holy quest' indeed! ( )).
But she likes the idea of having a base of operations to retreat to in safety and wants to know more about this house they've found themselves in, so the tunnels beneath the Manse is her Plan B.

It's essential that we not miss a visit from or invitation from the Mother Superior, so we should have some one or two ready to receive her as well as assist with Olaf as need be. The others should head to the basement and try to find some cash, as well as spot any surreptitious entrances to the property from the tunnels.

Eeeeek! Splitting up the party again!!
Seriously, Josiane is eager to meet the Mother Superior, and probably the person best equipped to do so, so she'd volunteer to stay behind. But I do think it best we all wait to hear what she has to say before we do anything else. We don't want any more missing persons...

Olaf will wait for the Mother Superior to come or call. We can put off delving for the short time that will take...hopefully. He is against splitting the party as that is what got us in trouble before.
How much coin do we actually have? We can't spend it all on Olaf, as we're going to need some for provisions, pay to the staff, and so on.

I assumed the rent/staff payment was due monthly, so we still have several weeks to come up with the coin for that.
We have provisions supplied for a few days now, as well.
Olaf's recovery should be our primary concern.
I agree 100% that there should be no more splitting up of the party when in a dungeon/crypt/unsafe environment.
I don't know if it's really the same if some of the party stays in the safety and comfort of "home" while others explore an area.
I'm fine with either waiting and going down with everyone or a few waiting for the cleric while the rest go down.
But if/while we're waiting at home for the mother superior, everyone should make sure they their dungeon delving gear ready. Do we have enough torches? Lamp oil? ammunition (spears, arrows, bolts, sling stones)? Spare shields? RAID!? (Does Raid work on centipedes?)

I don't like the idea of splitting up the party.
Seems to me, that's what we did this last time, and look what happened.
Dieter votes to wait until we hear back from the Mother Superior on the Olaf matter.
Also, I don't like the idea of spending all our money either (if there's another option.) I need a new shield (or two...) for one thing.
