Metamorphosis Alpha Game with Jim Ward
« Thread Started on Jan 21, 2011, 1:40am »

Not sure if this sort of thing was the intent of this forum, but it's definitely about gaming in Lake Geneva!

I know a lot of you, like myself, are from the Chicago area, so I figured I'd spread the word. There is a new game shop called Lake Geneva Games. I believe they just opened in December. I haven't been there myself yet, but I just caught wind that Jim Ward was there and offered to run a monthly Saturday D&D game there if there was enough interest.

I've committed to the game, but I think they are still looking for a few more. If you are interested and think it is something you might be able to commit to, shoot the owner an email.

I found out about it from their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/LakeGenevaGames

The owner's email can be found on the info tab, and there is a post about the game on the Wall.

Hope it gets off the ground, and hope to see some of you there!

I don't suppose they had play-by-video-skype in mind?

Drat. My work blocks facebook. I'll have to look at it when I get home.

Glad to see that Jim is still active in Lake Geneva. I know his health was questionable for a while and it sounds like he's getting back on his feet. :D

I'm pretty sure we still need players. If there are not enough players, there will be no game, so come on guys!

Wow, this is really great! I'd love to join in, but I live too far away.

To help advertise, I posted a notice on my blog that you all are looking for players:

Hope it helps!! Good luck! If the game happens maybe you can post some session reports...?

I really appreciate that. In return for your support, I'd be happy to commit to posting session reports. I've been tossing around the idea of starting a blog for some time, and this would be some perfect content to get it going.

Thanks!

I'm game... so long as everyone pitches in for my weekly round-trip ticket from Boston. :(

We've played our first three sessions as robots, and will be starting as androids in the next session. It has been a blast, and I really enjoy his style of running games. I love how he keeps a perfectly straight face and speaks matter-of-factly no matter how absurd the scenario is that he is describing. He also loves to pull out the old, "are you sure that's what you're doing?"

Surprisingly, there have only been 3-4 players each session - certainly enough to play, but definitely still room for more. We are playing twice a month from noon to 3:00 on sundays. If anyone was on the fence about it, I'm sure a few more players would be welcome.
