waysoftheearth, I find it hard to believe that anyone, and I mean anyone, could take the OP seriously.

I hate threads like this. Hard to say if a person is trying to be funny or not when it starts, but at the end people just end up getting mad at each other.
1. When I set up this board there was an option of EXALT and SMITE. Eventually it got misused and someone showed me how to make SMITE go away. (There are still folks on the boards who know how to work around this somehow, but not many and they don't seem to be abusing it.)
2. Folks told me I was daft to leave karma on the boards at all, that it would just lead to petty threads like this one. I happen to like karma because it allows me to reward folks who come up with particularly cool ideas. When I post on other boards I'm constantly wishing I could EXALT them, but cannot.
3. Nobody can give themselves karma. You can't EXALT yourself. (Slightly untrue; as board admin I think I can go into an indivudual's account and adjust the number the same way I can tinker with your signature or avatar. No one else can do this, so don't blame them for having a high karma number.)
4. Kent you want karma? You got it. This whole thread makes me mad and hopefully we won't return to the topic. Kent gets a bunch of karma for whining. Let's drop the subject, okay?
Maybe I'll have to disable my karma toy anyway thanks to threads like this. Or ban people. Grrrr.

If you make a joke and no one laughs, the joke wasn't funny. The proper course of action is to apologize and then remain silent until you can come up with a better one.
I'm just saying, is all.

I would deduct about 10k from that for showing some doofus' gaming video to his players and saying that all Americans game like that.

I'm sorry, I always root for an underdog- I'm weak.
That being said, at least Kent gets people interacting on the boards. If you wanted to encourage him to do more positive posts, someone should have told him he did a nifty job coming up with the home made d4 and thrown some Karma his way. just saying, some people need positive reinforcement (: (I hope that's true-that's what they told me.....)

Thanks derv but that's a kind of 'defending' I could do without since you make it sound like I was hankering after 'karma' after all. Im indifferent to it. I don't think it is silly either, I don't care about it.
Let's allow this to slide now. Move it or lock it.

Kent, you have an unrivaled ability to raise hackles! I thought it was obvious OP was out for a larf. Everyone please recalibrate your joke detectors. Talk of banning? Sheeesh...
With that said, if Kent gets 12K+ karma, then I think I'm at least entitled to 13,000. Someone who knows how to work that invisible smite button, speak up and share the trick so we can knock Kent back down to size.

| You say that, but I got a number of e-mails and PMs from folks who were upset by the thread. They apparently didn't think the thread was so hillarious.
Folks who have been around a while probably know that the whole Karma thing is one of my buttons not to push. I'll reset your Karma to where it was this AM.
