Fight On! #13 dedicated to Ken St. Andre
« Thread Started on May 12, 2011, 8:27am »

...for his pioneering old-school work on Tunnels and Trolls, Monsters! Monsters!, Stormbringer 1e, and much else. We are still hard at work on issue 12, dedicated to James M. Ward, but we wanted to let people know about the next one so they could start contemplating submissions. Fight on!

I posted info on this on both Ken's Trollwalla site and my own Trollbridge forum. Hopefully some of the T&T old guard will show up and make some contributions. :D

This is great news. Ken's a good guy and a breath of fresh air.

Just thought I'd point out for those not "in the know" that Ragnorakk's "ugh" statement is not a negative one. On Ken's Trollhalla, posters are encouraged to earn XP by posting and often folks will post an "ugh" as to mean "I'm hereabouts but don't have anything specific to add."

Sort of like in submarine movies where a captain might send out one SONAR ping just to let others know that he's out there. :D

That's true, though in this case I meant to convey a message of "Kudos!". It's all in the glottal stop - doesn't come through the Internet so clear... ;)

Time to start thinking about this one, for those of you who are interested! I can't bear to set a submission deadline just yet but it will be sometime in late August.

T&T, BRP/GORE Young Kingdoms, and Monsters! Monsters! submissions are welcome as well as all the usual fare.

Also, for you artists, I think the back cover has not yet been claimed, if anyone has a glorious color piece they want to submit.

This is going to be a great one - I think Ken himself is planning to contribute something pretty special!

P.S. Kesher, do finish that other piece of art, the article it's for will be running in this issue.

I have a friend who's now a professional comic artist, but he was quite involved in T&T fandom back in the day, and produced the cover for the unpublished 6th edition in 1999. I've sent him an email to see if he has the time or inclination to contribute to the issue.

He would be more than welcome if he did! I could get Ken to send him an email as well, if that would help...

I'll keep you posted. He'd been out of the hobby a while even back in 1999, so he might not be interested, and I don't know if he does non-paying work any more. We shall see!
