April 18 - Open Subs Deadline for #9
« Thread Started on Mar 18, 2010, 2:33pm »

What the title says. If you have cool stuff lying around you want to see in Fight On!, please send it by then.

We would be interested in city adventures, city tables, wilderness adventures, and even political or 'relationship map' adventures for the next issue. Also variant rules and character stuff. Really it's all good, those are just the areas it's been hardest to find articles for lately.

Thanks for your interest and submissions!

A bit soonish, but city type things? That's possible. No tables, though, I just submitted an article on that precise subject to Knockspell #5.

A Melan city article would be welcome, to put it mildly. :)

I just ran a Yojimbo style scenario which might fit the "relationship map" criteria. It was for Rogue Trader, but it could easily be rejigged into a fantasy scenario (as RT is space fantasy more than scifi), or even a generic scifi scenario for use with Traveller, X-Plorers or some similar old-school starships and spacemen type game.

We should talk to Grubman if we want to do it for X-Plorers - Mutant Future would be a go, and you could do a fantasy version. Sounds great though - why don't you bounce a draft off me?

Okay, I'll write it up without system-specific statistics, and then we can see where it might fit. I'm keen to keep it scifi, but it could easily be turned from a star system to a chain of islands (for example) if need be.

Let me see what I've got floating around. I may just have time to crank out two new MF races I've been meaning to flesh out...

Put me down for a small-size town map and key, with plenty of adventure hooks! 1 page for map, another for key and short history, I should think.

I'd like to do a mini-review, but not sure if I have a good product in mind this time around.

Cool, Zachary. We will look out for that stuff. Also, new races and classes and variant rules would all be cool. I'm very curious to see how people enjoy #8, but I am also already looking forward to #9!

Kelvin, the more I think about it the more I think I'd really like you to do up that adventure. I will help stat it out if need be. If any of you know Grubman point this thread out to him and see if he'd be cool with us printing stuff for X-Plorers in the magazine.

I am VERY interested in articles featuring people's own worlds/campaigns (the Lux Fomalhaut article in #3 was a tremendous example of how this can be done in limited space), and also interested in some cross-genre stuff, sci-fi, western, lost world, that sort of thing.

Righto. I'll keep it science fictiony then. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with X-Plorers' mechanics, but I'll describe the NPCs, ships and so on in terms which should make them easy to translate.

There is a free version of the rules available at the main site, in the downloads section. I'll focus on the adventure itself first, then I'll have a look at the rules! It looks like a simple enough system, so I'm sure I'll be able to figure out everything I need. But first I need to write out the adventure! And move house!

Hello, I'm interested in submitting illustration(s) for your mag and have some questions.

- Is there a theme for this upcoming issue, for illos?
- What dimensions do you require?
- Resolution?
- Color or black and white?
- Illo work is unpaid? Free copy of mag?

Also, how would I get on the front cover :) ?

Thanks a lot, g

Where do we send submissions? I've got a set of ten brief CARCOSA encounters I'd love for you to consider.
