OOC: I accidently modified the post that used to be here. Never done that before, but there's a first time for everything.

Reconstruction: Willin eyes Adrastos and says to him, "What do you take me for, a thief?" Willin then lowers his voice, "I may house criminals--you've seen the safe-room, after all--but that's only for a unlove of the Tyrant king scaring away my well-paying patrons."

"You misunderstand me, friend - I was merely curious..." as Adrastos hands the bartender a Crown, "Yet, would you know someone who might be inclined to point me in the right direction?"

At the gathering, hearing about the proposition darkens Adrastos with the gruesome memory of a grim sight he happened upon as he wandered the jungles north of the Pelangos, before he had made it to the city.

"Listen all, before I arrived to this city I came across something that shook me deep to the core, a nightmare I had hoped was a moment of delirium delivered by the smoldering heat of the jungle. In the mouth of an enormous and grim statue, I saw a woman's throat being slit by a naked villain whilst white robed figures gathered about. I wonder if this victim and our lady be not one in the same..." he says with a dark look in his face.

"Keep the crown. I'm afraid you'll have to find your way on your own." Willin begins, "Like I told you and your mates, I don't what to know what you're planning, just will give you a safe place to do so."

"Understandable...my apologies, you have been quite accommodating"
Adrastos joins his companions at the table for discussion.

Once everyone is gathered, Yngvar speaks in between sips of wine:

"Boro is right; we have many options before us. I propose that we take to the sewers tonight, to see if the information Boro received from his thief is correct and determine how well the Tyrant guards his secret tunnels. Tomorrow, we make our show for the Sultan, and get our advance. From there we can decide what course to take first - the ruby, or the princess.

I don't have much money, but I'm willing to chip in to outfit Brennus properly for a trip below."

Adrastos perks up with the mention of action -
"Sounds like a fine idea...I don't have much in the way of crown, but you can count on me to back you up in the sewers if that is what is to be done..."

(OOC: there's some discussion of what to do going on in the OOC thread, as well. I'll refrain from posting again until everyone has had a chance to weigh in.)

Brennus nods solemnly. "Perhaps the unfortunate woman you saw was the Princess Elaina Luzi, perhaps not. But I did consider that possibility in my negotiations; the Sultan will still pay us 2,500 for solid proof of the Princess' demise. Plus of course we'd be free to keep any incidental loot we discover along the way..."

Brennus looks confused at this talk of sneaking through the sewers, not being present for your meeting upstairs. Do you wish to fill him in on the details or keep him in the dark?

Turin takes it upon himself to take Brennus asside and explain the situation concerning the Demon's Eye in a low whisper:

"The Demon's Eye is one of the most treasured of the Tyrant's jewels--a fist sized ruby with but a single imperfection. We have two plans to acquire this gem. The first is to infiltrate the sewers to find a rumored passage into the tunnels beneath the palace. The second involves impersonating a group of Mitra's priests, administering the last rites to our contact Nashwa, who will lead us to the Tyrant's vaults once we break her out of the dungeons."

OOC: Before you go you may want (or I guess you could not) pay up for the drinks you have purchased throughout the evening. Excluding the drinks purchased before play began, here's what the total has come to:

Here is the tab at the end of the night.

Brennus - 1 pitcher of mead (already paid for)

Eyvindur - 4 ales (8 pennies)

Adrastros – 1 Ale (2 pennies)

The Safe-Room - 5 Crowns (which you still have paid up through the morning)

He turns to whichever of the original PCs is nearest and whispers, "Is this man one of our party now? Will you vouch for him?"

Boro looks at Brennus and says, "Without this man and his companions, we would all be merely wasting away in search of drink. I'll not vouch for him, but to say that his group inspired the endeavor at hand."

Adrastos turns to the offended Brennus and says,

"This man has been greatly wronged and been made to suffer by the Tyrant - merely for a trifling - his family was hung. He has offered reward in exchange for our help, and I for one, am obliged. So tell me friend - is there more justice in turning a blind eye to his plight, than it is to help him...and ourselves a little to boot?"

Yngvar nods in agreement. "Turin here hatched the plan, and we have merely stumbled into it. I will vouch for him, for now. However," he gives Turn and Co. a menacing stare, "should they think of double-crossing us, I will have no problem housing my axe in their skulls. We all help each other, we all get a share of the loot."

(OOC: Yngvar will pay 3 of the 5 crowns for the Safe Room, as he promised earlier. He has 19 remaining, and will contribute 10 to outfitting Brennus, should it become necessary)
