Inspired by Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Cimmerian stories and Bledsaw’s City State of the Invisible Overlord, comes Pelengos, a decadent metropolis of gluttonous merchants, corrupt aristocrats, slavers, assassins, sleepers, and audacious adventurers all ruled over by a single, supreme tyrant: The Prince of the Emerald Eye. Beyond the walls of Pelengos lies a barbaric jungle of twisting vines, cyclopean ruins, degenerate dwarves, tribes of cannibalistic amazons, gibbering cultists, and teeming piles of ruby-ridden treasure. The city brims with scholars and adventurer, ready to reclaim the secrets and treasures of a bygone age from the thorny tendrils of the wilderness. The City State of the Emerald Eye will be an OD&D swords and sorcerery adventure game with intertwining elements of urban, wilderness, and dungeon exploits. If you’re interested in playing, let me know. I’m hoping for somewhere between 6 and 10 players, but would be up for going higher than that if there is enough interest. Welcome to the Pelengos, City State of the Emerald Eye.

I am most definitely interested. I am a huge REH fan and this sounds like my type of setting.

I've never played a pbp game, but this sounds interesting. I'd love to play if you can handle a newbie.

Sounds like fun. Sign me up, please! I'm a major Howard/Swords & Sorcery/Heroic Fiction fan.

Wow, great to see a quick response! Of course you can play, spectresghost! The main difference between play by post games and face to face games in the pace. Play by post is MUCH slower, but still enjoyable (at least I think so).

1) Click link: http://gutenberg.net.au/plusfifty-a-m.html#letterH 2) Page Down 3) Enjoy Burrough's John Carter of Mars series of pulps can be found at the same site, along with some other great stuff. Burrough's Mars had a profound influence on OD&D and are worth a look. Poke around a bit.

By the way, I highly recommend "Red Nails" if you just want to read one story.

Alright, so that's four players so far (unless DuBeers wanted to play, then we have five). One more and I'll ask Fin to open up a board for us and we can get to creating some characters. P.S. Thanks for providing the link, DuBeers.

I'm a PBP newbie as well, but anything Howard-inspired is going to be fun. Count me in!

So we're got a board, character creation information is up (mostly), and ability scores are rolled. We can still take three or four more people along for the ride. Post here, and we'll make it happen!

Great, I have rolled stats for you, and you can find them in the character's creation thread.
