Issa, if you and your spear would join me, we might probe those holes. Who knows what some dlaqo may have secreted there, né? And Hrahyosh, your keen eyes and mind would be helpful. O' most estimable Trinesh, I direct your attention and intellect to the odd pillar of bones. Ohé, lantern boy! Illuminate this for us.

Trinesh lights 1 of his torches from the other lantern boy, then sends him oner towards Teregash's position. He examines the structure the dlaqo was standing by when we attacked.
"Someone cut the head off of the dlaqo. We should take it with us to show our employeer to help loosen his purse strings.
Ouippuo and Hredharru, would one of you please join Teregash in watching the western tunnel and the other stay me so that we can act as needed."

The structure is a tub-shaped ring of bones that appear to have been crudely cemented together with some sort of secretion. They form a low wall around 7 melon-shaped, pale objects reminiscent of the cocoons some moths are known to emerge of.
Something else catches Trinesh' attention...the bones that form the nest, in fact, most of the bones scattered around while definitively humanoid are overly large to be human. (Successful Idea Roll)
The party members investigating the holes on the wall don't find anything of importance. None of the holes is big enough for a person to travel unless he feels like crawling.

Do'olnar will join the bone group. He wonders if the "eggs" would be worth anything on the surface. He'll also examine the nest carefuly.

OOC: Is there anything that resembles a pelvic girdle or hip bone? Also, I look carefully for loose coins, gems, or any sort of garments.
To Do'olnar: "These appear to be either Shen or Ahoggya bones. Most likely Shen. Or perhaps Nluss. If we can find a pelvic girdle we should be able to tell better. The dlaqo must be raiding a cemetery or morgue and bring bones back thru these tunnels they have dug."

There does not appear to be anything of value in the bone-nest.
The bones are apparently all humanoid and, as was said before, too large to be human. Some appear to have odd deformities but no one has the medical skills to deduce more from this.
OCC: (sigh) Do'olnar doesn't know what Shen or N'luss are. He has heard of Ahoggya but never seen one. Either way, Ahoggya are hardly humanoid

Using his merchant skill, can Do'olnar determine if the cocoon "silk" would be valuable as cloth or if he or Hrahyosh (ropemaking) think it would make an especially strong or durable rope?
I would think that Do'olnar is well read enough to know of the northern giant barbarians, the descendants of the Dragon Kings. Now, Hluss he might not know about (barring his possibly apocryphal back-story which includes an encounter). And, Trin, my assorted N'luss characters strongly resent being called "humanoid." But then, you tiny things have always given us the creeps. Worrying about stepping on you an' all that.

Alternately, would dlaqo "eggs" bring a price at some of the "exotic" markets?

Trinesh picks up a large deformed bone and puts it in his sack for later study and cuts the head off the dlaqo and puts it in the sack as well.
"Let us form a line across the width of the room and move east to west to check for anything else. Light a torch if you have it so we can see room better. Teregash stay where you are and guard the western tunnel please."

No one has any idea how much Dlaqo eggs would sell for, if at all. However given the creature sacred status to the cult of Sarku and Durritlamish maybe it could be worth something to its members...it is a matter of trying.
The head of the Dlaqo is about the size of a human torso with two scimitar-sized mandibles jutting out. It is not very heavy but it is unwieldy to carry and will take most of the space of a large sack. Whoever is carrying it should drop the sack in case of combat as it can easily get in the way and diminish fighting efficiency.

Trinesh decides, after some effort getting it in his sack, to settle for a mandible for comparision purposes. Also, unless Do'olnar wishes to object, he will slice open the cocoons to harvest the silk, and make sure the larvae inside are dead.
"Unless anyone objects, let use search this room to see if there is any items of interest or hidden doorways."
OOC: Do we find anything?

Does what little Do'olnar knows of Sarku support this?
Trinesh, do not cut the cocoons, you will break the silk and ruin any value it may have. I will carry the "eggs" in my sack and attempt to interest Hritsekkash in acting as intermediary in such a sale. If the danger outweighs the gain by so much as a tnúng (187.4 mg), as a Salarvayani he will flee from it and we will investigate uses for the silk.
