Roll Call - Getting the Show on the Road

I do hereby declare this EPT game open for business! ;D

(pulls back sleeves)

On this incipient thread I shall list the esteemed persons that have manifested interest in joining the game and hope that they, like good little students at the local Temple-School raise hands and cry "Present" and answer two questions.

So far we've got:

- Noisms
- Ranele
- Sham
- Trineshhissanmarin
- Finarvyn (maybe?)

Now for the questions:

a) I'm planning on taking care of all the dice-rolling myself "behind the scenes", is this ok with everyone or would you prefer we used a dice-rolling program. That would of course slow down things a bit more.

b) Likewise for chargen I'm planning on doing the dice-rolling. You get a blank-slate PC with stats and money and get to select class, culture, skills and equipment. Let me know if you really want to do the dice-rolling yourselves.

That's all for now. It's late as heck in Scotland so I shall be going to bed soon.

The player count so far is:

- Noisms

- Suushih (awaiting confirmation)

Everyone except Suushih has their PC stats posted on [CHARGEN] Stat Rolls. Give those numbers some souls folks.

My goal is to be up and running by next week. I shall be posting the houserules soon (that's where stuff like the Idea and Luck rolls comes from).

Oh, and of course I accept the convention of referee dice rolling...isn't that what "gamemaster screens" were invented for?

And being limited to human characters is fine too, of course (so much for that Nyagga priest...)

Since my knowledge of the setting is mostly abstract, having never been put into application, I'm thinking of avoiding any magic-using character. I know little about how magic functions on Tekumel, and would prefer to learn by watching. Also, more physical characters seem to be the easiest to play initially.

If his stats support it, I'm thinking of a scarred, middle-aged former soldier or gladiator, semi-retired from his former career and now something of a free agent, seeking personal glory and a worthy death. I'm a bit non-plussed about what nationality to claim for him, though...

Just wanted to let everyone know things are proceeding along fine. Most players have finished their characters and the others are near completion.

I will also take this opportunity to announce that recruitment for the game is closed. We have 7 players in total which is a lot.

Sorry to any interested latecomers. Please feel free to lurk when the game begins and if any slots become available in the future and you with to join let me know.

Right, now I'm off to work. When I return I will try to post some more House Rules.
