"If you want to take from the dead, let their ghosts haunt you," Jochi says. "Whatever is left of the bedroll I will use to wrap the bodies and bundle them on our camels. Why spend time here in danger burying them when we could have the beasts carry them back to safety? Help me with this and then I'll divide these coins."

"I agree," Armand says. "I'd hate to be left out here to rot, when my times comes..."
"Now they are hacked up, just bury them", states Jacques, searching the bodies for gold pieces, "Corpses from the forbidden city should stay here. But we must hurry !"
OOC: Jacques had searched the bodies a page or so ago - unless Iseul has picked his purse - haha, class !

Zulayman listens to the others and watches as the bodies are gathered.
"One moment," he says as the bodies are picked up. "I shall assist but if no one objects, I shall take this one's rations and water. Ghosts or no ghosts, I presently have no food after the locust attack."
Zulayman takes the rope, torches, waterskins and rations that were on Nestors halved corpse.
As the group prepares to leave, he adds, "This one's-Nestor- I shall ride his horse if none protest. I cannot abide camels. Does it have a name?"
(OOC: I think no one claimed them and that they weren't left in the barn? If the rope was left in the barn, disregard that obviously.)

[OK, so Jacques found Nestor's purse. Since the information is available on the character sheets, you can just say that you take it. Does he share the coins with the others? In that case its 2 per nose and 4 for Jacques.]

OOC: Yes, he'll share it out, solemnly saying saying "We shall drink to their memory on return to camp."

Jochi refuses to accept the dead man's gold from Jacques. "Well said, friend, but I'll drink to them with my own coin. Hold onto my share of Nestor's gold for now, if you will, and use it to give him a hero's funeral when we return."
As long as everyone has their purses out, Jochi will share out the octagonal coins from the barn. The distribution goes around 19 times, and then leaves five left over. Jochi pockets these with a promise to use them to buy the supplies to make oil-soaked arrows for everyone when we return.
(XP spreadsheet updated to include rows for GP distributions. Thanks to burke for helping keep this up to date, and also for running such a great game in the first place!)

(OOC: Weird - the spreadsheet lists Nestor twice, and doesn't mark as dead! Maybe one of those should have been Karl, who wasn't on the spreadsheet - for now, I renamed the second Nestor column as his. Spreadsheet now reflects 22 gp each going to Jacques, Jochi, Romeo, Rollo, Iseul, Armand, Zulayman, and Yusuf.)

Yusuf thanks Jacques and Jochi for the coins, dropping them into his empty purse, "Now I have something that jingles again." he smiles.

Zulayman bows as he accepts the coins. Waiting by the horses, he turns the octagonal piece of gold over in his hand, studying it to see if he can recognize or read any of the markings.

"It's all dead men's gold, when you get down to it," Armand mutters philosophically, finishing up with the corpses.
Yusuf frowns for a moment then smiles and nods, "A wise statement, Armand. It will be our gold for only as long as we have it, or live, and long after we have passed on to Paradise, it will continue to be first one and then another man's gold until the end of time itself!"

Unless anyone has already claimed Karl's rope (the one that is hanging from the Barn roof) Iseul will climb up to the roof and remove it, then climb back down again.
