Iseul: "We should stay away from the balcony as it has proven to be dangerous."

Iseul shows the treaure he has found so far to the rest of the group.

Iseul: "This medallion has the same type of symbol as we saw on the tower. Maybe it's a symbol of their religion?"

"I think we should scour this room for any remaining jewelry first before we move on to the entrance west of us. If we coordinate the treasure hunt it shouldn't take too much time."

"Greeks!" he mutters under his breath, "This is no Greek temple..."

He joins Seamus in examining the altar, checking to see if it moves at all.

While the others are searching the room, Hadi moves carefully toward the portal in the south wall, watching for traps, enemies, or other hazards. If he doesn't see anything unusual, he will try to peer into the hall to the south without entering it.

As the balcony crumbles under his feet, the nimble Tartar manages to leap back to the stairs. The whole south part of the balcony comes crashing down in a cloud of dust and splinters.

Hadi climbs over the wreckage and examines the southern hall. It seems to be 60' wide and 20' deep, with a pair of large, wooden doors in the middle of the southern wall. The doors are barred with a large wooden beam, but they are bulging and sand is trickling through. From what Hadi can tell, the hall seems empty.

Iseul's, Nestor's and Jochi's scavenging among the human remains yields 4 more rings (1 silver, 3 gold), a golden necklace, a pair of ivory hair pins and a pearl eyeball.

The altar seems to be made of solid stone and will not budge. Seamus sees nothing that indicates human sacrifice, in fact the engravings seem rather benign. Some of the engravings show people being blessed (rays of light shine upon them) after passing through the hoop.

Rollo, who has been keeping close to the entrance hole, hears the camels bray in the distance.

"Hey, folks, the camel is searching for his dad!", whispers Rollo, empahsing on the fact he's whispering.

Nestor looks over their assembled valuables. "This is more like it. Easy money."

With that the sounds of the braying camels catches his ears. He looks around at the assembled warriors. "Did anyone stay with the camels?"

"Or maybe something's attacking them?" Seamus asks, then runs as quietly as he can back up the tower to check.

Jochi scrambles up the steps behind Seamus, eager for the chance to shoot camel-rustling miscreants with his bow.

Hadi returns to the entrance in the east wall and stands next to it, watching the temple hall, and especially the other doorways, for any threats which might approach while others are checking the camels. He readies his bow and nocks an arrow.

Feeling a trouble coming, Rollo follows the camel-savers line, watching what comes from the back.

Romeo stays behind with Hadi. He plants himself right in front of the altar and unsheathes his sword, motioning for Jacques and Nestor to join him on either side. Listening intently, he keeps scanning the doorways.

Not having a bow, Nestor stays behind in the long forgotten temple with their new found wealth. He sees Romeo signal him to join him up by the altar.

"I'm not sure I trust that ring on the floor. Perhaps we should toss something into it to see if it activates a secret door of some sort? How about this skull?" Nestor picks up a skull from the floor of the temple and walks to the altar taking up a position next to Romeo.

"Are you expecting somebody?"

Romeo flashes a hard grin. "It's been a bit too quiet. And camels braying in deserted ruins... well, we'll see." He nods at the skull Nestor's carrying. "A good idea. Toss it through." He steps to the side.

Slightly out of breath, Seamus, Jochi, Iseul and Rollo reach the top of the tower. Carefully climbing out on the balcony you survey the area. Nothing seems amiss, other than the fact that Romeo's camel, Caesar, has torn itself loose and is disappearing behind the nearest ruins.

Meanwhile down below, Nestor lobs a skull through the metal hoop. It passes through with no visible effect and shatters on the stone floor.
