Inspired by Nicolas Dessaux's Searchers of the Unknown, I'd like to run a forum hex/dungeon crawl using the rules. My idea is as follows:
Legend tells that the sorcerous city of Athl-Yith was lost in a sandstorm that raged for two whole lunar cycles. Now, two thousand years later, a storm of similar magnitude has just swept over the desert of Kteph, uncovering the ancient ruins of a vast city. The Bedouins claim that it is indeed the lost city and adventurers from far and wide are travelling to the site in hope of uncovering its secrets.
The game will begin as soon as possible if there is enough interest and Finarvyn approves.

I'm interested, if there's still room at the table.

Thanks Finarvyn and welcome kesher, geordie and giantbat! I have no problems with a lot of players so come one come all. I expect the pc mortality rate to be quite high, but luckily rolling up new pc's with these rules is no problem!
I'll set up some threads with instructions etc, later today. Since the character can be written in one line, I was thinking that you could keep it in your signature. That way it would always be handily available.
If you want to start rolling up your characters, you should begin by registering for the die roller we will be using (if you get a warning concerning the sites certificate, don't worry):
The dice log is like a blog for die rolls. It keeps a long history which makes it easy to refer back to old rolls. Please include your forum name or character name in the message when rolling, to make my life easier.

I'm am squealing with geekish delight at this suggestion.
I haven't participated in a play-by-post game for a looooong time. I'm looking forward to this!
(plus Will and I actually get to be players together... )

Using Nicholas's Chainmail character type table in an excess of geekish delight, I determined that the dice want me to play a lightly-armored Tartar with lance and bow, which is to say: AC 7, MV 9', HD 1, hp X, #AT 1, d4 with a knife, d8 with a bow, d10 with a lance. (Am I right in assuming that the lance is a two-handed weapon for a footman? Will we have mounts?)
I'll roll hp once I can log it, modify as necessary, and add name and background after I read up on the Tartars a little!
