Or, since I apparently can't deal with time zones, it's happening right now (1 pm CST)

Here a short summary of the first part:

  • playtest pack is made of 5 pregen characters (rogue, wizard, fighter, 2 clerics) + Cave of Chaos adventure + Cave of Chaos bestiary + DM rules + Player rules
  • pregen characters will have both themes and backgrounds
  • classic four races (halfling, human, elf, dwarf)
  • one cleric will be classic (mace + armor), the other one will be more mystic
  • playtest pack will focus on core rules
  • monsters will be shown as a single stat block in the adventure, extended stat block + fluff in the bestiary
  • at-will powers will be options
  • clerics will have domains
  • rogues will have "schemes" (supposedly roguish distinguishing features)
  • wizards will have cantrips (at-will useful in and off combat)
  • rules are made to give any class the chance to shine
  • we already know wizards will cast vancian magic
  • they talk about spell point system and power system to mark the difference between sorcere, warlock and wizard
  • future options for sub-races
  • at-will stuff will come from themes and backgrounds
  • fighters will have maneuvers (alternative to feats but each maneuever has more options)
  • no Prestige Classes for the moment

Some clarifications:

  • the Theme option gives access to Skills
  • the Background option gives access to Feats
